House Speaker Mike Johnson raised $27.5 million during the third quarter of this year for fundraising as the election gets closer.

His team said that this number is a record for a GOP speaker during an election year, according to an exclusive report from Punchbowl News.

According to the report, about $19.4 million was for Johnson’s fundraising committees while about $8.1 million was for individual candidates and House members.

Johnson has been on the road over the past few months campaigning for GOP congressional candidates, including Arizona U.S. House candidate Abe Hamadeh.

Johnson has also traveled to other states including Colorado, Washington and California to campaign for GOP candidates there.

Democrats have been outraising Republicans during this election cycle though Johnson seems to have found his footing with fundraising. According to Punchbowl, he “has traveled to more than 210 cities in 40 states and will barnstorm through 24 states in October.”
