Democrats not only have a major problem on their hands with the suddenly flailing Kamala Harris but also with her self-confessed “knucklehead” of a running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

While Harris’ belated media interview tour has been a roaring dumpster fire, she’s not getting much help from the bottom of the ticket, especially after Walz’s own disastrous interview with ABC host Michael Strahan.

On Friday’s edition of “America Reports,” anchor John Roberts and Fox News analyst Karl Rove discussed the Walz-Strahan interview after beginning the segment with a clip of “Tampon Tim” from the sit-down with the former NFL star.

During the “Good Morning America” interview, Strahan put the goofy governor on the spot about his impressive collection of misstatements about his biography.

“Well, like I said, they know who I am. I know who I am, I know the work that I’ve done, I know that things get spun in a political environment,” Walz said. “But I think what they see is, if they want to compare that, talking about immigration policy or seeing the things that Donald Trump would say, I think there’s a big difference than missing a date when you’re there and again, spinning something for political reason.”

When it comes to explaining away their own faults and shortcomings, “Muh Trump” is always the fallback for Democrats, but fewer and fewer people are buying it.

“I mean, he’s called himself a knucklehead and voters might be rightly asking themselves, ‘Who wants a knucklehead a heartbeat away from the presidency?’” Roberts asked Rove.

“Look, if he just simply said, ‘Look, I’ve misspoken and I apologize. I understand that. But, you know, I’ve been formed by my experiences. Yes, I’ve gotten, I’ve mangled dates and I’ve put myself in places that I wasn’t, but it was unintentional and I wasn’t trying to mislead,” answered Rove, the former senior advisor to President George W. Bush.

“And, you know, I’m proud of my record as a member of Congress, as governor of an important state. But yeah, have I misspoken? You bet. And for that, I’m sorry,’” I mean, move on, people are forgiving,” agreed Rove. “But you got to admit the problem. You can’t simply say, I’m still trying to figure out what he was trying to say there, incidentally. But you can’t- you’ve got to be direct. And he certainly wasn’t,” added Rove, offering his expert political insight on Walz constantly shooting himself in the foot.

In another portion of the ABC interview, Strahan asked Walz about his call to abolish the Electoral College, something that the Harris campaign has denied that it supports – although that’s highly likely to be false – and his squirming answer after he was reigned back in line so swing voters wouldn’t be spooked.

“The campaign’s position is clear — that that’s not their position,” Walz told Strahan, a weak sauce walk back. “Their position and my position is to make sure that everybody understands that their vote — no matter what state they’re in, matters.

“I have spoken about it in the past and she’s been very clear on this and the campaign and my position is the campaign’s position,” he said.
