Teamsters president Sean O’Brien eviscerated the Democrat Party during an appearance this week on comedian Theo Von’s podcast.

“I’m a Democrat, but they have f–ked us over for the last 40 years, and for once we’re standing up as a union saying what the f–k have you done for us?” he began, referencing the union’s stunning decision to not endorse Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris.

‘I’m getting attacked from the left, you know, and since I’ve been in office over two and a half years, we’ve given the Democratic machine $15.7 million,” he added. “We’ve given Republicans about $340,000, truth be told, so it’s like, you know, people say the Democratic Party is the party of working people, but they’re actually bought and paid for by big tech.”

“Now you’ve got the Republicans who are now saying ‘Hey we want to be the working class party!’ and okay you’ve got a great opportunity right now to do that. As for the Democrats, if 60 percent of our members aren’t supporting you, the f–king system is broken and you need to fix it. Stop pointing fingers at the Teamsters Union and look in the mirror,” he continued.

Listen:

But instead of looking in the mirror, the left has been attacking the union and O’Brien in particular by essentially accusing him of being dumb.

“The Teamsters President Is Out of His Depth,” a headline at The New Republic reads.

“Former Teamsters Chief Calls Not Endorsing Harris a ‘Failure of Leadership,’” another headline, this one from Rolling Stone magazine, reads.

Neither of these stories mention the disrespect that O’Brien faced when he attended the Democrat National Convention in early August.

“Teamsters President Sean O’Brien has been ghosted by the Democratic National Convention after his request to speak this week in Chicago,” Axios reported at the time.

“At least seven leaders of major labor unions were set to take the DNC stage tonight, but O’Brien has become persona non grata in some Democratic circles,” the report continued.

O’Brien became persona non grata for committing the supposed crime of also speaking at the Republican National Convention weeks earlier.

During his podcast appearance, he also stressed that Republicans have a real opportunity right now to make inroads with the Teamsters.

“It’s funny, you know before you always had Democrats fighting for working people and now we kind of see a switch where working people feel like they’ve been left behind by the Democratic Party and the Republicans say they want to be the party to represent the working class,” he said.

“They have an opportunity to do it, but, you know, I think we’ve got a huge opportunity to organize. We’ve been exposing them, and we’ve been fighting. And you know our biggest opponent right now is Amazon, and we’re gonna crush them,” he added.

The Teamsters aren’t the only union to have ditched the Democrat Party.

“Auto Workers for Trump” founder Brian Pannebecker said last month that thousands of union members were poised to bolt the Democrat Party and flock to former President Trump over job-killing regulations and President Joe Biden’s green agenda.

The retired autoworker worked 36 years for Ford and Chrysler. He’s a staunch Trump supporter and began the group for his colleagues and retirees in 2017 since so many of them supported Trump. It started with 30 active United Auto Workers (UAW) members. That group now has thousands of members.

“Word got out around my plant,” he told Fox News last month. “It quickly doubled and tripled in size. Other workers at other auto plants started seeing it [on social media] and requesting to join. And all of a sudden I had hundreds of members.”

He went on to slam Vice President Kamala Harris, who’s currently running against Trump to be president.

“Kamala Harris is on record saying she would like to see all vehicles built in the United States reaching zero emissions by 2035,” he said. “She supported legislation to that effect when she was a U.S. senator.”

“[She’s] even more liberal than Bernie Sanders, so she’s dangerous. She knows nothing about manufacturing. She knows nothing about the economy. She’s a San Francisco liberal district attorney. And then she was California’s attorney general. And we all know what’s happened in California. They’ve ruined that state,” he added.
