Filmmaker Michael Moore dismissed Democrat fears over a potential election victory by former President Donald Trump, calling out their “shocking” reactions in a CNN interview.

The leftwing activist does not believe it is a close race between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, telling CNN anchor Brianna Keilar on Monday that a “tsunami” of women voters will be coming out on Election Day in protest of the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022.

“I honestly think we’re going to have one of our largest turnouts ever. I don’t think that many people are going to stay home. I certainly hope not because of everything that’s at stake,” Moore said.

“Democrats, they’re such a frightened group of people,” Moore said. “I mean, they still think that Trump is going to win.”

“This is kind of shocking to me. Like, don’t you live with people? Are you not aware that there’s going to be a tsunami of women voting between now and Election Day?” he said.

“Anybody who thinks women are going to stay home, that women are going to stay home — Do you not know any women? Do you not live with a woman?” the filmmaker continued.

A national Fox News poll from September showed Harris with a two-point lead over Trump. Keilar asked Moore about polls suggesting it is a tight race.

According to the poll:

The new Fox News national survey finds a 3 percentage-point shift among registered voters in the 2024 presidential contest since mid-August. Trump had a 1-point advantage last month, while Harris is ahead by 2 points today: 50%-48%. For reference, in July, Trump was ahead by 1 point over President Biden. Each of those differences falls within the margin of error.

The biggest change since last month is that independents and Hispanics have swung Harris’ way. Hispanics favored Trump by 6 points in August, but they go for Harris by 12 points today. Independents went for Trump by 8 points last month, but now prefer Harris by 12. It is important to remember that estimates among small subgroups are more volatile and tend to swing more than others, and that applies here.

“I don’t think it’s a dead heat,” Moore told Keilar, explaining that he leaned more in favor of polling that asks voters about issues instead of candidates.

“No, I don’t think people should be running their lives based on these polls,” he said, reminding her about the disastrous polling that all but guaranteed Hillary Clinton would win the election in 2016.

“You mentioned Democrats who want [Harris] to ‘tone it down,’” Moore said to Keilar. “That’s something women have been told for decades.”

“The reason she’s so progressive — because she believes in a woman’s right to choose, she believes a 14-year-old shouldn’t take an assault rifle to school….you go down all her positions and they line up exactly with where the majority of Americans are at,” he claimed.

“The majority of Americans believe climate change is real. The majority of Americans believe the minimum wage is too low. Just go down the list,” Moore contended.

“The majority of Americans want regulation. They want people to be making sure that, when you have a hurricane and only 1% of the people have flood insurance — That‘s not the country I live in. That‘s not the country I‘m going to live in, where people now are suffering because of this,” he said.
