There appear to be no limits to the fearmongering being employed by the Kamala Harris for President campaign, especially when it comes to stirring their young, easily manipulated, low-information base.

Getting these voters to the polls has always been a challenge for the Democratic Party, and the Kamelot brain trust has endorsed a campaign trying to convince young voters that Donald Trump is coming for their tequila.

“Guys, the Trump Tequila Tax is insane. In case you haven’t heard, he wants to put an across-the-board 20% tax on all imported goods. That means he wants to tax your tequila, and your Coronas, your Modelos, you Hennessy — all of it,” a young creator posted online.

The creator goes on to say Democratic nominee Kamala Harris will support “mom-and-pop liquor stores and locally owned bars,” as if this is a driving issue among young people. This claim is a reference to her tax deduction plan for small business startups — a plan Harris has no means to fund other than the pipe dream of raising taxes on billionaires.

“If you want to stop the Trump Tequila Tax, vote for Harris-Walz,” he concludes, with a tip of what appears to be a margarita.

In addition to posting the video above, which has garnered over 1 million views, the Harris campaign posted another video of tequila shots and margaritas disappearing from restaurants “if Trump wins.”

The misinformation campaign is a play on Trump’s stated proposal of imposing tariffs on imported goods, from 10 percent to as much as 20 percent in some cases.

Interestingly, given the recent rumors about Kamala Harris being fond of drink, you would think the campaign might steer clear of any focus on booze.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on Elon Musk’s free speech platform X:
