For weeks Vice President Kamala Harris has desperately tried to distance herself from the failing Biden-Harris administration, but she admitted on Tuesday that she would not have changed anything from the past four years.

While speaking on “The View,” co-host Sunny Hostin asked Harris, “If anything, would you have done something differently than President Biden during the past four years?” 

“There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of, and I’ve been a part of … most of the decisions that have had impact,” Harris said.

Just one of the things that should have come to mind for Harris is the disastrous and deadly Afghanistan withdrawal that left 13 U.S. service members dead.

As described by Politico, Harris told CNN’s Dana Bash that “she was the last person in the room,” before Biden made the deadly decision. The Washington Post previously acknowledged that “Harris’s role behind the scenes in one of the most consequential and controversial episodes of Biden’s presidency shows how she sought to position herself as a vice president deeply involved in key moments.”

Harris could also have said that she would have changed how she voted in 2021 and 2022 on two major Democrat-led pieces of legislation that increased federal spending while providing little relief to Americans suffering under historic rates of inflation.

Harris cast the tie-breaking vote in 2021 on the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan and one year later cast a similar tie-breaking vote on the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act.” Biden later admitted the Inflation Reduction Act “has nothing to do with inflation” and rather was the largest climate change package in the country’s history. Economists later said the Inflation Reduction Act had little to nothing to do with helping cool inflation.

But Harris didn’t — and doesn’t — see anything wrong with her administration’s reckless fiscal policy.

Then of course Harris could also have used the opportunity to say she would’ve handled her role as border czar differently.

The United States has seen record-high illegal border crossings under the Biden-Harris regime, in part stemming from the administration’s decision to halt construction on the border wall and end the “Remain in Mexico” policy. Harris has recently insisted that she could fix what she broke, saying, for example, that she supports securing the border. But why then did Harris tell the audience at “The View” that she wouldn’t have done anything differently from Biden?

Because she doesn’t actually believe in the policies she proclaims to support now — they’re just politically expedient, and Harris doesn’t see a problem with the past four years of her administration.

Voters, however, do see a problem with the record of the administration that Harris wouldn’t change a thing about.

A September poll from The New York Times/Siena College found a staggering 95 percent of registered voters want a candidate who represents a change from President Joe Biden. The poll, conducted between Sept. 3 and Sept. 6, asked respondents whether the next president should “represent a major change from Joe Biden, a minor change, or no change from Joe Biden?” Sixty-three percent of respondents said the next candidate should represent a “major change” while 32 percent said a “minor change.”

Unfortunately for Harris, 56 percent of registered voters said Harris represented “more of the same.” On the contrary, 61 percent of voters said former President Donald Trump represented some degree of change. Registered voters also favored Trump over Harris to handle the economy and immigration — two key issues of the campaign.

But Harris has the full weight of the propaganda press behind her — and it’s working overtime to sever the ties between Harris and her own administration, even if Harris herself is soiling those efforts. The Washington Post’s Senior Political Reporter Aaron Blake, for example, claimed that Republicans are “trying hard to tie Harris more closely to Biden on the economy, immigration and the border,” implying that this effort somehow misconstrued reality.

Yet Harris herself just admitted Tuesday that every decision Biden has made over the past four years is a decision she herself supports.

If the nation had a functioning press, then Harris’ Tuesday admission would mark the moment her campaign ended. Unfortunately, Harris’ full-throated endorsement of the past four years — and her involvement in the ruin of the nation — will continue to be explained away by the corporate press even when Harris says otherwise.
