As RedState reported, the most recent handful of “interviews” Vice President Kamala Harris had were (predictably) with what we call “media friendlies,” with one of them being a sit down with a popular sex/relationship podcaster whose typical topics of discussion cannot be repeated in family-friendly forums.

Though the “Call Her Daddy” segment aired Monday, the bigger issue with it is the fact that Harris obviously considered chatting with host Alex Cooper about abortion-related topics to be more of a priority than visiting the parts of the southeastern United States that were hardest hit by Hurricane Helene.

Harris taped the heavily edited interview last Tuesday, the day before she headed to Georgia and several days prior to visiting North Carolina, the latter of which saw what some have called “biblical devastation” from Helene.

As if that weren’t bad enough, we’re learning more about Harris’ upcoming interview schedule, which includes media heavyweights like… “The View” and Howard Stern:

Harris will sit down with ABC’s The View on Tuesday, as well as SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, the campaign announced this morning. CBS already announced that Harris would guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night, and would be on a special edition of 60 Minutes on Monday.

Harris will participate in a Univision town hall on Thursday as shee campaigns in Nevada later this week.

My RedState colleague Jeff Charles wrote about this Sunday, correctly pointing out that “given Harris’ propensity for gaffes and word salads, even the most friendly of interviews might not be enough to save her.”

But the media spin on Harris’ mini-press tour has already started, with CNN media hall monitor Brian Stelter rushing to declare that despite Harris’ light interview schedule she will be getting some tough questions:

“She’s also on ‘The View’ tomorrow. I was talking to producers of ‘The View’ last night. They have some sharp questions for her as well. And let’s remember, sometimes it‘s these non-traditional formats that actually reveal a lot about candidates.

Remember when Kamala Harris was sitting down with Oprah Winfrey a couple of weeks ago, and that‘s when Harris said, ‘If somebody breaks into my house, they are getting shot.’ That was a very revealing soundbite, even though it was a friendly interview for Harris. And that’s why I thought ‘Call Her Daddy’ was really interesting as well. The interview actually revealed a lot about the candidate, and ultimately that’s what the Harris campaign is trying to do.”

Watch:

Newsbusters Associate Editor Nick Fondacaro quipped in response that he “bet those questions will be as sharp as a loaf of bread.”

In that interview clip, we learned two things 1) why CNN brought Stelter back into the fold (to grow the pro-Kamala chorus at the struggling news network) and 2) that there is literally nothing Kamala Harris can do that her apologists in the press won’t spin in her favor.

Left out of it was the following inconvenient tidbit of information about the priorities of the two presidential nominees:

It says everything.
