The Wisconsin Senate race has moved from “lean Democrat” to “toss up” in The Cook Political Report.

The race pits Republican candidate Eric Hovde against Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis.

A Tuesday update from Cook indicated that Baldwin maintains a narrow lead over Hovde of only a few percentage points.

“This tightening, as Hovde has further consolidated Republicans behind him and brought independents over to his side, is largely predictable,” Cook’s Jessica Taylor wrote, according to The Hill.

A September report showed that the Democratic candidate was losing ground in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin is a swing state that President Joe Biden won by 20,000 votes. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., only won his race by one percentage point.
