A Democrat mayor lowered the boom after an upstate New York company showed its support for former President Donald J. Trump in a really big way, with a 100-foot wide “Vote for Trump” sign that could be seen by vehicles on the busy New York State Thruway.

The pro-Trump sign was displayed by the Sticker Mule company at the top of the old Fownes glove factory, the tallest building in the city of Amsterdam, a city of around 20,000 named after the Netherlands capital.

According to the company’s CEO Anthony Constantino, he put up the sign as a symbol for the return of domestic American manufacturing and “the triumph of the underdog against insurmountable adversity.”

“I think that’s what President Trump did. He triumphed against massive adversity. He’s still doing that with bullets flying by his head,” Constantino told Fox News Digital. “And we triumph too. Nobody thought we could build a massive sticker company or a massive tech company in upstate New York.”

But the giant Trump sign didn’t sit well with Mayor Michael Cinquanti and city officials who took legal action over the “displaying” and “illumination” of the sign which it says “presents a dangerous distraction and impacts traffic flow,” according to court documents.

The company’s CEO and his lawyers don’t agree with the city, believing the independent mayor who has been endorsed by the Democratic-party is biased against the Republican nominee.

“I made a beautiful sign, designed by local artists, to bring much needed enthusiasm to Upstate, NY which is what we need to re-ignite economic growth,” Constantino told WNYT. “The sign symbolizes the return of manufacturing to America and elevates the skyline of our hometown. Whether you’re Democrat or Republican, it’s a tourist attraction that will bring economic activity to Amsterdam, NY making it a big win for everyone. Only highly partisan and short-sighted politicians would take issue with it.”

“Local politicians are doing everything they can to illegally block us from lighting our awe-inspiring ‘Vote for Trump’ sign. They are already coordinating with the media to smear us. They will lose,” the company said in a post to X, inviting people to a party to celebrate the sign and send a message to Democrats.

“There will be a huge party on Oct 7th at 6pm to celebrate our ‘Vote for Trump’ sign symbolizing the return of Manufacturing to America & the end of Anti-Trump bullying,” Constantino said. “They want to intimidate me. It won’t work.”

“Everyone is invited to 26 Elk Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 for this historic event with Cybertrucks, Free Fish Filets, UFC Superstars and the most beautiful, and perhaps largest, ‘Vote for Trump’ sign in the USA,” he added. “It’s a major tourist attraction. Everyone, Democrat or Republican, should thank us for bringing enthusiasm to Upstate, NY with this beautiful sign!”

“I like to move fast and do interesting things,” Constantino told Fox News Digital.

“The enthusiasm just went through the roof. We’ve got three UFC superstars that wanted to come see it. We’ve got people that want to come from all over the state of New York, people that want to fly in or drive in from all over the country, really, to see the sign get lit up,” he said.
