You really can’t make it up.

I’m not saying anything bad about Israel defending itself, but your taxes are buying munitions for Israel to use in Lebanon, then more of your taxes are going toward the cleanup/relief efforts that resulted from the use of those munitions.

It is a simple thing for the American government to give billions to foreign governments, but apparently it is very hard to give that same money toward helping actual U.S. citizens.

The comparison here isn’t strictly apples to apples (because $2 million is only a fraction of funds that will be used in Helene relief efforts), but that’s not the point. The optics is (and politics is 90% optics).

The Biden admin thought it would be a good idea to announce huge support for Lebanon at the same time it proudly declared it would give a paltry $2 million toward road repairs for an emergency in America that is still ongoing and is likely the worst natural disaster experienced by this nation in two decades.

Let me just say I am really happy that Elon Musk took Mayor Pete to task for his half measures and virtue-signaling snobbery.
