Music legend Garth Brooks has been accused of sexual assault and battery by his former hairstylist and makeup artist.

The plaintiff, “Jane Roe,” filed a complaint in California court Thursday accusing Brooks of having raped her, having exposed his genitals/butt to her, having spoken openly about sex around her, having changed clothes around her, and having sent her sexually explicit text messages, as reported by People magazine.

These incidents all reportedly occurred in 2019, though Roe claims she started working for Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood, in 1999. Only later in 2017 did Brooks himself hire her for makeup/hair work. But then two years later in 2019, he became aware of her “financial difficulties” and began hiring her more often. That’s when the problems started.

“Brooks seized what he saw as an opportunity to subject a female employee to a side of Brooks that he conceals from the public,” the complaint reads. “This side of Brooks believes he is entitled to sexual gratification when he wants it, and using a female employee to get it, is fair game.”

Brooks previously cheated on his first wife with his current wife, Yearwood.

On one occasion, Roe was reportedly preparing to do Brooks’ hair and makeup when he allegedly exited the shower “naked, with an erection,” somehow placed Roe’s hands on his penis, and then demanded she “perform oral sex on him.” She refused but did remain at the scene to complete the artist’s hair and makeup.

Then during another incident, Roe and Brooks traveled alone on his private jet to Los Angeles.

“Then, Roe claims, she was surprised to find out Brooks booked a one-bedroom hotel suite for the both of them,” according to People magazine. “Later, Brooks allegedly exposed his ‘completely naked’ body to her in the hotel room while flexing his muscles.”

It was in the hotel room that Brooks allegedly raped her. According to Roe, she “could not escape his physical domination.” The alleged rape “was painful and traumatic” for her.

“With cold disregard for Ms. Roe, when Brooks was finished, it was business as usual,” the complaint reads. “Ms. Roe worked quickly to style his hair and do his make-up for the event so he was on time.”

Brooks is also a known leftist.

After the assault, things only got worse.

“Brooks increased the frequency of saying his sexual fantasies about her aloud, along with his physical gropings of her breasts while she was doing his hair and makeup,” according to the complaint.

He also allegedly told her about how he’d previously had sex with people of various races in hotel rooms. He also proposed “a threesome” with his wife, who Roe believes overheard some of his sexual remarks at least once.

“Roe claims Yearwood, 60, was present for a May 2020 conversation where Brooks made comments about ‘inventing a shampoo bottle that would double as a dildo,’ after which Roe texted him to express her discomfort,” People magazine notes.

“The same year, Roe claims to have felt upset after learning Brooks told Yearwood she’d seen his penis and sent him a text message, to which he said she was ‘overthinking’ the scenario,” according to People.

Roe is reportedly asking for monetary damages and a trial by jury.

“We applaud our client’s courage in moving forward with her complaint against Garth Brooks,” her attorneys said in a statement. “The complaint filed today demonstrates that sexual predators exist not only in corporate America, Hollywood, and in the rap and rock and roll industries but also in the world of country music.”

“We are confident that Brooks will be held accountable for his actions and his efforts to silence our client through the filing of a preemptive complaint in Mississippi was nothing other than an act of desperation and attempted intimidation. We encourage others who may have been victimized to contact us as no survivor should suffer in silence,” the statement continues.

Brooks for his part has denied everything and claimed Roe is trying to extort him for “hush money.”

“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars,” he told People. “It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face. Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money.”

“In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of—ugly acts no human should ever do to another,” he added.
