Facts didn’t care about Whoopi Goldberg’s feelings as she attempted to “school” Zachary Levi on what his presidential endorsement meant for his career.

Over the weekend, the star of films like “Shazam!” and “Tangled” made a move he acknowledged was essentially career suicide in Tinsel Town and officially threw his hat in with former President Donald Trump.

Tuesday on ABC’s “The View,” Goldberg took umbrage with that position as she tried to sell her audience on the idea that Hollywood has “always been a very right-leaning town.”

Pivoting off singer Chappell Roan’s decision to cancel shows after backing Vice President Kamala Harris, the co-host played a snippet of Levi’s own endorsement from the stage at a Reclaim America Tour stop in Michigan alongside Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

“That’s not necessarily true. From the beginning of Hollywood… it’s always been a very right-leaning town, but I know you don’t know much about the Hollywood history, so let me school you,” began Goldberg’s attempt.

“We are, like America is, we’re mixed. We’re a mixed bunch and sometimes it may seem like there’s more Democrats and sometimes it seems like there’s more Republicans, but the truth of the matter is, very few people seem to bite it because they’re Republican,” she said before struggling to name well-known, successful actors who were open about their conservative views. “Jon Voight, who is working. Dennis Quaid, who is working. People are working.”

“Stop that! It’s more BS and it’s unnecessary,” asserted Goldberg before she likened a celebrity endorsement to “a 50/50 chance of stepping in poo.”

As had been reported, Levi touted his Christian conservative upbringing by parents who had been Kennedy Democrats as he supported RFK in the 2024 race. He reminded, “Whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or Independent, every single one of us is a child of God.”

“I stand with Bobby, I stand with Tulsi, I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump,” the “Chuck” star said as he embraced the call to make America healthy again.

Of course, as many social media users were keen to point out, cancel culture remained a strong impulse for the left as evidenced by “Star Trek: The Next Generation” actor Wil Wheaton who saw Levi’s endorsement as an opportunity to bash the actor’s non-profit, Nerd HQ, which focused on mental health.

Wheaton posted on his Facebook, “Something I love about our nerd community is how welcoming and diverse we are. We are a safe place for everyone who has ever been Othered. We are a safe place for vulnerable people to come together and safely love all the wonderful nerdy stuff we love.”

“With that in mind, I think it’s pretty important for anyone who supports Nerd HQ knows who and what they are supporting. What a disappointment. What a disgrace. How disgusting,” he continued before arguing “A place is not safe, if you can’t keep out the people who would make it unsafe.”

Even before supporting Trump for president, Levi’s career appeared to be put at risk by his personal views as Director James Gunn had weighed in on Levi’s criticism of Pfizer.

After the actor posted, “Hardcore agree” to the question whether or not “Pfizer is a real danger to the world?” Gunn, who had taken over as co-head of DC Studios, was asked to respond.

“Just real simply: Actors and filmmakers that I work with are going to say things that I agree with and things that I don’t agree with. And that’s going to happen. I don’t have a list of things that somebody should say because of what I think. And you know, I can’t be changing my plans all the time because an actor says something I don’t agree with,” he said, according to Variety.

“By the same toke, if somebody’s doing something morally reprehensible then that’s a different story,” added Gunn, leaving the door open for discretion. “We have to take all that stuff into account. It’s a balance. It’s modern world and it’s a different place.”

As far as Goldberg was concerned, users on X were happy to “school” her on how conservative celebrities have been relegated to independent studios and B-list roles or less barring a few exceptions if they spoke up about their beliefs while others refuted her by asserting their own boycott of Levi.
