CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins tried to argue that the media isn’t to blame for the assassination attempts on Republican nominee Donald J. Trump.

The network’s primetime star verbally jousted with Donald Trump Jr. in the spin room at Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate in New York City where Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) had just dismantled Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on national television.

After briefly allowing the younger Trump to make his case about the policy differences between his father and Kamala Harris, Collins took a cheap shot at the former president with her remark that the vice presidential debate was “very civil” suggesting that the senior Trump is anything but civil.

“On the debate itself, it was very civil,” Collins said. “They acknowledged when they agreed, they gave each other the benefit…of the doubt, “Should we see more of that on the debate stage when your dad’s up there?”

“You know what? I’d love to see that across the board,” Trump Jr. responded before lecturing her on the “political climate” and the attempts to kill his father.

“We’ve all heard about Trump Derangement Syndrome, we’ve seen what they’ve lied about, my family…I was an agent of Russia, but Hunter Biden’s laptop was totally Russian disinformation, turns out the opposite was true.”

“You know, the media did that. They created so much of that environment. The media has radicalized the people that are trying to kill my father,” he told Collins, confronting her live on-air over the media’s fomenting the climate of hate that has poisoned American politics and nearly got his dad’s head blown off live on CNN during his July rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“I’ve had to deal with that twice now, in the last two months. I’ve had to have that conversation with my five young children, twice in the last two months about someone trying to shoot their grandfather,” Trump Jr. continued. “You know that didn’t just magically happen. That’s not him, that’s a media-created fake Russia scenario, they ran with it for years even when it was disproven, they still ran with it. You know, that environment wasn’t just created by Donald Trump.”

It was not the answer that Collins was expecting and she responded by incredibly claiming that the media doesn’t want to see Trump taken out by a bullet when it – especially her employer – has done everything to push the buttons of the mentally unstable for years.

“Okay, but, but can I say, you can’t blame, and no one wants, everyone wants your dad to be safe,” she insisted. “Everyone wants your dad to be safe. No one wants the threats against his life to happen but you can’t blame the media for those threats. There’s been no evidence…that’s what drove those…”

“When someone calls…and allows people to have a platform to call someone literally Hitler every day for nine years, it creates it,” Trump said. “Whether you want to believe it or not. That’s a fact.”

After more back and forth, Collins handed it back to the CNN studios and slack-jawed anchor Jake Tapper, who has done more than his fair share when it comes to putting a target on Trump’s back by likening him to Adolf Hitler and accusing him of parroting Nazi ideology.

Collins is obviously full of it and her network has been at the forefront when it comes to whipping up murderous hatred against Trump, his family, and everyone who supports him.
