At this point it feels like the incompetence is intentional, doesn’t it?

Remember when our nation’s elite protection squad was more competent than Barney Fife?

A U.S. Secret Service (USSS) Uniformed Division officer was injured in Washington, D.C., Saturday night after accidentally shooting himself.

The USSS told Fox News Digital that the ‘negligent discharge’ occurred near 32nd and Fessenden streets in the northwest section of the city just before 8 p.m.

The agent, who was on duty, was handling his service weapon when the firearm discharged.

How could one accidentally shoot themselves while on the job?

Well, I think I have an idea given that this is the person who guards the former president …

And no, these Secret Service agents aren’t being issued early Sig P320s. 😉

As you can see from the lady who couldn’t holster her hand cannon, they’re mostly using Glock 19s and Glock 47s these days. Glock made a name for themselves in the 1980s by making their iconic striker-fired pistol that includes a three-part safety system (dozens of manufacturers have similar safety systems today).

Because of these safety systems, it is virtually impossible for these hand cannons to go off by being dropped. It just won’t happen.

Either the agent put his finger in the trigger well, depressed the trigger safety, and then kept pulling until a bullet was fired…

…or else he was trying to holster it and it got caught on something because he isn’t proficient enough to holster a pistol like your average American gun owner.

You gotta love how one second the feds are telling us we don’t need guns because the pros will protect us, and then the next second the pros are shooting themselves in the feet.
