Disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo endorsed Kamala Harris for president but slammed progressives and the “defund the police” movement that has led to a wave of violent crime in America.

Once a Democrat rock star whose tyrannical COVID policies made him into a hero of the left before it all came crashing down due to a sexual misconduct scandal, Cuomo delivered a fiery political sermon at the Bedford Central Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn.

The former governor, who once harbored presidential aspirations, began by praising the Democrat nominee as “smart and qualified” and one who will unify the party’s tribes against former President Donald J. Trump.

“She is going to unite the Democrats,” Cuomo said. “She’s going to bring a new energy. And because the opponent is Donald Trump and we’ve seen that and we’re not going back there again.”

While acknowledging that the installation of the former laughingstock isn’t going to “solve all our problems” and that the government  “isn’t working for people on a very basic level,” he unloaded on the far left in a fiery rant delivered without a hint of irony that Harris is one of the radicals who he denounced.

“Things are getting worse, not better,” he told the crowd, according to Fox News. “And I think it’s time that we take a fresh look and take a new perspective when we look at what’s going on.”

“Today, we have a great political argument on the Democratic side: Who is more progressive?” Cuomo asked. “I don’t even think they know what the word means, progressive. You cannot be a progressive if you don’t make progress.”

The ex-governor noted that the nation is “going backward” as a result of progressive policies.

“Some people think it’s progressive to say, ‘Defund the police,’” he said. “Yes, in theory, if everybody had an education and everybody had a job, nobody would need to commit a crime. I get the theory, but it’s not that simple.”

“‘Defund the police’ are the three dumbest words ever uttered in politics,” Cuomo declared, condemning the slogan that became a central tenet of leftist political ideology after career criminal and drug addict George Floyd met his tragic demise while resisting arrest in 2020, spawning a national movement to demonize and disempower law enforcement.

At the time when cities were burning and police were under attack by violent BLM/Antifa mobs, Harris urged her followers to donate money to bail them out and put them right back out on the streets.

Cuomo also addressed the illegal alien invasion of the Big Apple and said that the government “can’t just have 100,000 migrants coming into New York City and only New York City.”

“Nowhere else in the state of New York, only New York City,” he said. “And leave it all up to New York City to pay for hotels, pay for health care, over $10 billion. No plan by the federal government, no real help from the state.”

The ex-governor also urged churchgoers to get out and vote.

“Remember the only questions that matter: Who is going to help you and your family and who is going to get the job done?” Cuomo concluded.
