Repeated threats on his life had former President Donald Trump opening up about concerns for the safety of his family in a nation “under siege.”

A second assassination attempt on the Republican nominee for president hadn’t deterred the left from their never-ending demagoguery of the GOP leader. As investigations have done little to instill confidence that the U.S. Secret Service was being utilized to the utmost of its capabilities in defending Trump, he told Fox News host Brian Kilmeade, “I have to worry about family.”

“I do. I don’t talk about it, but I do,” the president said during a Saturday interview for “One Nation” after he was asked, “Do you worry about your family, too?”

“I have to worry about family. I have to worry about everybody,” he continued in a clip from the interview shared by his campaign. “I worry about you.”

“I worry about everybody because — look, we’re under siege and no country has ever suffered like we have for the last three-and-a-half, almost four years,” Trump explained to Kilmeade. “When they allow millions of people to come into our country, from prisons, right? From prisons. And terrorists, and people from mental institutions, and they take over our parks — look at New York. You can’t play Little League baseball anymore.”

“That doesn’t sound serious, but it is serious. When they take away your whole lifestyle, when they live in hotels better than our incredible veterans who are lying on the street opposite the main entrance to a hotel and in that hotel you have illegal aliens that have come in — and by the way, destroying the hotel, fighting at levels that the police don’t even want to go into the hotels — when you have that happening at this city and this country — I do,” expressed the president, “I wanna protect everybody.”

Preempting the response, Fox had aired a snippet of Donald Trump Jr.’s reaction to the latest attempt on his father’s life as he had expressed, “I’m sick and tired of having to have that conversation with my five young children about a deranged leftist, clearly motivated by the sound bites of the radical left and the mainstream media, shooting at their grandfather.”

The president’s son had stated much the same when he’d posted on X the day after the attempt, “You know what’s getting really old? Having to have conversations with my 5 young children about radical leftist trying to kill their grandfather. No person should ever have to do this in America or anywhere else and yet I had to have that conversation five times again yesterday.”

The wide-ranging interview also saw Trump address support for his campaign, the economy, the border crisis, and even his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris before he previewed the matchup between Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz with a prediction that his running mate “won’t get a fair shot.”

Despite that, the president assured, “I think he’s done great. People are really liking him. He’s tough, smart, he loves our country. He’s gonna have no trouble.”
