In Sweden they are offering tens of thousands of dollars to migrants if they’ll just please leave the country:

In nearby Holland, meanwhile, they’re trying to take a swift exit from the European Union’s own ruinous immigration rules:

The four-party coalition in the Netherlands, led by Prime Minister Dick Schoof, has promised to build up the ‘strictest asylum regime ever.’

The new Dutch government has fulfilled its promise and submitted a request to the European Commission to secure an opt-out clause from the EU’s migration and asylum system, an unprecedented move from a founding member state.

‘We need to be in charge of our own asylum policy again,’ Marjolein Faber, the Dutch minister for asylum and migration, said on Wednesday morning.

It’s not just the Netherlands, either! Denmark “has already managed to negotiate an agreement to keep it outside the EU’s common asylum policy.”

So, increasingly, the historically liberal nation-states of Europe are looking at the immigration crisis wrought by the EU and are like:

These are pretty significant developments! This is, after all, the world that has been wrought by the left-wing states of Western Europe — a world of limitless migration, one where countries must accept any and all immigrants that come to their borders, no questions asked, forever.

If they’re unhappy with it, you can bet there’s some sort of major tonal shift on the horizon. Though the leaders of the whole charade aren’t likely to give it up that easily:

But the European Commission poured cold water on the idea that the Netherlands could follow suit in short order.

‘We do not expect any immediate changes under new rules on the side of migration which continue to be binding on the Netherlands,’ said Anitta Hipper, a commission spokeswoman for home affairs, migration and internal security.

Don’t be surprised if you see more and more European countries opting for tighter borders, though. People are fed up, even over there.
