I really want to say that this is one of the worst baserunning mistakes I’ve ever seen, but I’ve also never had to dodge a flying baseball bat while standing near third as a baserunner.

Rodriguez must’ve stolen third from his automatic placement on second since it’s extra innings. First batter is facing what becomes his third strike, and then the bat goes flying.

Yeah, seems like a boneheaded play, but the mind shifts gears when faced with a flying baseball bat, I’ll say that much.
