More than 150 Democrats made it very clear that they value illegal immigrants over women and children by voting against deporting those convicted of sexual offenses or who conspire to commit them.

Dedicated leftists voted on Wednesday against the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act. Thankfully, the bill, sponsored by Rep. Nancy Mace — H.R. 7909 — passed the House along bipartisan lines with all Republicans voting for it. They were joined by 51 Democrats who proved that there was still a modicum of sanity left in their party. The measure passed 266 to 158 according to Fox News.

“Among the Democrats who voted for the bill are Reps. Mary Peltola, D-Alaska; Marie Gluesenkamp-Perez, D-Wash.; Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla.; and Hillary Scholten, D-Mich,” Fox News reported. “Two of the Democrats who voted for it are seeking higher office — Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., is running for Senate, and Rep. Abigail Spanberger, D-Va., is running for governor.”

“In addition to deporting migrants convicted of sex crimes, the legislation would also deem illegal immigrants who admit to domestic violence or sex-related charges — or are convicted of them — to be inadmissible in the U.S.,” the media outlet added. “It’s part of a wider legislative push by the House GOP to spotlight issues stemming from the border crisis, which has for months affected cities and states across the country.”

The Congressional Budget Office goes into more detail concerning the bill:

H.R. 7909 would make an alien (a non-U.S. national) inadmissible to or deportable from the United States if that person admitted to or was convicted of sex offenses or other crimes involving domestic violence, stalking, and child abuse or neglect.

Under current law, spousal violence, sexual activity with a minor, and stalking are all deemed to be crimes involving moral turpitude; the admission of or conviction for such a crime makes an alien inadmissible.

Further, a conviction for domestic violence, stalking, or child abuse, child neglect, or child abandonment renders an alien deportable.

Therefore, CBO expects that only a few people would be deported based solely on enacting this bill. Enacting H.R. 7909 would reduce direct spending and spending subject to appropriation because aliens are eligible for certain federal benefits, such as emergency Medicaid, if they otherwise meet the eligibility requirements for those benefits.

Because few people would be affected by the bill, CBO estimates that those effects would not be significant in any year and over the 2024-2034 period.

Mace was not surprised that so many Democrats voted against her bill. She slammed them for it.

“If you vote against it, you’re sexist against women,” the representative asserted. “I mean, truly, because we’re talking about illegals who are here who are committing domestic violence, rape and murder on women and children — they’ve gotta go. They shouldn’t be allowed into our country.”

Democrats are nauseatingly spinning their votes against the bill for all they are worth.

“Here we are again, debating another partisan bill that fear mongers about immigrants, instead of working together to fix the immigration system,” Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) declared according to Fox News. “I probably shouldn’t be too surprised. Scapegoating immigrants and attempting to weaponize the crime of domestic violence is appearing to be a time-honored tradition for Republicans.”

Support from Democrats to address illegal immigrants and crime has been tepid at best showing where most of their real priorities lie. Hint… it’s not with Americans.

“House Republicans previously passed a bill to detain and deport migrants convicted of assaulting law enforcement with the help of 54 Democrats — while 148 lawmakers voted against the measure,” Fox News wrote. “Meanwhile, the GOP-backed Laken Riley Act, named after an Augusta University nursing student who was allegedly killed by an illegal immigrant, netted support from 37 House Democrats.”
