If an employee is so fragile they need “mandatory trigger warnings” that’s a clear sign they are too pathetic to function. However, considering that the tech industry is one of the most woke, it’s always nice to watch the left go after their own, as you can never be progressive enough for these people.

The Times Tech Guild represents 600 software engineers who apparently cannot seem to function like a normal person, despite probably being paid some of the country’s highest salaries. Subsequently, the union is threatening an election-day strike if their foolish demands are not met.

According to The Post Millennial:

Tech union workers at the New York Times have threatened to strike on Election Day due to stalled contract negotiations. Union workers have made a number of unusual requests, including mandatory trigger warnings, a four-day workweek, unlimited sick time, job security for non-citizens, and pet bereavement leave.

So will workers stay extra hours on the days they actually work? And what does “unlimited sick leave” even mean? Can someone take an entire year off? Does “unlimited” mean “unlimited?”

I also get that many pets are “part of the family” but I don’t think “pet bereavement leave” is a thing. At least they aren’t demanding mandatory pets to support their emotions but we’re probably not too far from that.

The Times Tech Guild, which represents roughly 600 software engineers and other non-editorial tech workers at the paper, authorized the strike last week. The union views the strike as a critical move as it would occur at the busiest and most crucial time of year for media, resulting in a work stoppage on Election Day.

LOL. It would be nice for this strike to take place but it wouldn’t be surprising if these asinine demands are met before then.

Over the past two years, the tech union has struggled to reach contract negotiations. The guild has issued a laundry list of demands that include mandatory trigger warnings when discussing new events, a ban on scented products in break rooms, a four-day work week, unlimited sick time, job security for non-citizens who are in the US on work visas in the event of layoffs, and pet bereavement leave, as reported by Semafor.

Chairman of the New York Times, AG Sulzberger, told Semafor that the guild’s economic demands would result in a cost of over $100 million in compensation and benefits for the company over the course of the proposed three-year contract. The Tech Guild’s members receive an average annual salary of $190,000, which encompasses salary, bonuses, and restricted stock options.

These people are so dumb they are basically advocating for foreigners to take the jobs of Americans. Additionally, what is up with these people thinking companies can simply fork over hundreds of millions of dollars as if it’s a pizza party? This is what happens when you don’t tell people “no” and it’s unfathomable how pathetic the union is.

I still cannot comprehend how unions went from ending child labor in the workforce to pet bereavement leave but that is the status quo and it’s unclear how much more pathetic society can get before total ruin.
