On Monday, after a second attempt on the life of former President Donald Trump, Sunny Hostin, one liberal co-host of “The View,” surprisingly denounced the large number of people who have voiced their support of violence against the Republican presidential contender.

Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, the second failed Trump assassin, was detained on Sunday after it was reported that he had pointed a AK-47-style rifle in Trump’s vicinity during a round of golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

However, a Secret Service member caught view of the crazed man poking his weapon through a fence and fired shots in his direction. Routh then quickly ran off and drove away in his vehicle before being caught by authorities on the highway.

“The Secret Service says the agent opened fire at the suspect, who ‘did not fire or get off any shots at our agent,’ according to acting director Ronald Rowe,” CBS News reported.

According to a survey conducted on June 24th by political scientist Robert Pape of the University of Chicago, at least 10% of American people believe that using violence to stop Trump from winning reelection is appropriate.

Hostin referenced this disturbing data while expressing her condemnation of this hateful mindset.

“I was just reading this morning, a recent University of Chicago poll examines support for political violence in the United States. And there is more support for violence today against Trump and others,” Hostin stated. “Against Trump, 10% of American adults think it’s okay, and 26 million adults who support violence to prevent Trump from regaining the presidency, more than 30,000 of those own guns, and almost 80% have access to internet organizational tools. That’s despicable, what do we do?”

Pape expressed his “immediate concern” at the findings in an opinion piece published in the Boston Globe on July 14th. He also noted that 10% of the supporters of violence against Trump are “politically active” and possess the “capacity for violence.”

Co-host Sara Haines attributed the surge in political violence in the United States to the normalization of “hate speech” and “political rhetoric.”

Nevertheless, Hostin retorted back to her usual liberal talking points by blaming the violent attempts against Trump and other political figures on Americans’ “fascination with guns,” as opposed to Democrat leaders and other left-wing politicians publicly wishing ill will and violence against Trump.

In the first failed attempt to kill Trump, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired eight shots into the crowd during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13th. Despite killing one man and injuring two others from the barrage of bullets, the bullet that hit Trump only skimmed the former president in the upper part of his right ear.

Following the incident, the Secret Service was investigated for how it handled the matter, which resulted in the resignation of Kimberly Cheatle, the previous director of the agency.

Meanwhile, many paranoid Democrats have still theorized that Trump was “in on” the first assassination attempt and that the former president was personally apart of its planning, which follows a pattern where left-wing voters tend to not believe in any sort of “conspiracy” unless it involves Trump taking part in wrongdoings. For example, many Democrats still believe that Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election against Hillary Clinton, despite the Department of Justice admitting that they found no connection involving Russia and the Trump campaign.
