“I don’t want to get–I don’t want to frankly go down this conversation about policy.”

Congratulations go to CNN’s Dana Bash for uttering what may be the dumbest thing uttered by a journalismer on a Sunday Morning show. Eventually, she may stop inviting JD Vance to hang out. It never works out for her. But, yes. The host of a Sunday morning news show that’s meant to inform the electorate said, out loud, with her mouth, that she didn’t want to have a conversation about policy. Instead, she had talking points she had to get to attacking Vance that were no doubt written by a Democrat strategist.

It was so bad that other journalismers needed to jump in and lie about what JD Vance said, claiming he admitted he was spreading urban legends about cats and dogs being eaten all willy-nilly in the streets by Haitians. SPOILER: That’s NOT what he said.

It’s important to watch the full interview because you can guess the talking points Bash were ready to repeat. One is that according to a single bureaucrat that one media outlet called once, the stories about pets are debunked. Another is that because a crazy person called in a bomb threat, it’s JD Vance’s fault. Keep in mind, these same people will tell you Donald Trump almost getting assassinated for a second time is his fault too, but we’ll have more on that in today’s show.

Then because this is CNN, the issue isn’t the issue of Americans struggling. The issue is in the words being used by Republicans to illustrate the Americans struggling under Harris-Biden and how Harris-Biden is responsible. In this case, dropping 20,000 migrants on a city of only 60,000 people. Just don’t say “overwhelm.” That’s another no-no word, according to CNN.

Vance went beast mode.

“You’ve heard a lot of the media focusing on every possible distraction from the story in Springfield … the suggestion that because some psychopath is calling in a bomb threat, somehow we have to then ignore 40,000 Springfieldians who are having their lives worsened by Kamala Harris’s policies?”

“What is the implication when you say “[me] calling out these problems has caused a bomb threat.” You accused me of causing a bomb threat… ‘doesn’t that mean you should shut up about the residents of Springfield?’ Don’t you realize you’re engaged in basic propaganda to silence the concerns of American citizens?”

“You’re saying if one person accuses J.D. Vance, [you’re] going to take that person’s word as the gospel truth, even if you misrepresent it. If you have another person who’s saying they’re eating the cats, you’re going to completely ignore them, attack them, silence them, and harass them. That double standard is why people don’t trust the media.”

JD Vance is why I’m not upset there isn’t going to be another presidential debate. Not that the debates matter much in the long run. But I’d much rather debate season ends with JD Vance having his way with Tim Walz and whatever moderators are there to advocate for Kamala Harris.
