Republicans are looking to be in a good position to regain control of the Senate with a key race now being forecast to be won by the GOP which could retake the majority for the first time in four years.

In its latest update, the nonpartisan Cook Political Report has changed the Montana Senate race between incumbent Democrat Jon Tester and GOP challenger Tim Sheehy from “toss-up” to “lean Republican” with less than two months to go until Election Day.

Sheehy, who is backed by former President Donald J. Trump, has moved ahead of Tester whose campaign touts him as a “third-generation Montana dirt farmer” in the pivotal race, a key state in a year when Democrats are facing a difficult electoral map to hold or build upon their thin majority.

“Today we are making a major shift — moving the Montana Senate race from Toss Up to Lean Republican,” said The Cook Political Report’s Jessica Taylor. “This means that Republicans are now an even heavier favorite to win back control of the Senate, regardless of the result at the top of the ticket.”

Republicans need to flip two seats to once again have the upper hand in the Senate and things are looking good in West Virginia where moderate Joe Manchin is retiring with the takedown of Tester potentially being the difference maker.

Republican Bernie Moreno is seriously challenging incumbent Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown in Ohio in a race that could go either way.

The Cook Political Report forecasts Ohio and Michigan, where former congressman Mike Rogers is looking to replace longtime Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow as toss-ups.

A shift in Senate control would be seismic, ending the reign of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) who has enabled the most radical members to wage war on the nation’s institutions, particularly the Supreme Court which is a co-equal branch of government but is now being openly threatened by the New York Democrat and other top senators with the blessing of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Schumer and company are aiming to remove conservative justices from the bench and pack the court with far-left ideologues who will act as a rubberstamp for the left-wing tyranny that Democrats seek to impose on the country, and once the court falls, the Electoral College and Second Amendment will be on the chopping block.

Schumer has indicated that if Democrats retain the majority, he’s ready to pull the trigger on nuking the filibuster, the last remaining obstacle to one-party rule.

“We got it up to 48, but, of course, Sinema and Manchin voted no; that’s why we couldn’t change the rules. Well, they’re both gone,” Schumer told reporters at the Democrat National Convention in Chicago on Tuesday, according to NBC News. “Ruben Gallego is for it, and we have 51. So even losing Manchin, we still have 50.”

Senate races in Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are all rated as “lean Democrat.”
