Following the September 10 presidential debate, rumors swirled about one candidate’s potential use of a secret earpiece disguised as jewelry.

Vice President Kamala Harris was accused of smuggling Nova H1 Audio earrings onto the debate stage, allegedly using them to receive answers from her handlers. The rumor quickly found footing on X where users pointed out there were some similarities between the two pieces of jewelry.

But fact-checks and X’s own Community Notes system claim that this is not the case.

Instead, it is believed that Harris was wearing the South Sea Pearl Earrings in gold from Tiffany & Co. These earrings are reportedly no longer available for online purchase but do have an $800 sibling from the Tiffany Hardware collection called the Double Pearl Hinged Earrings in Sterling Silver.

Most notably, it appears the H1 Audio earrings are not currently available for purchase on the Icebach Sound website, and a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the product was last updated in May 2023. It’s also no longer possible to donate to the campaign, as you had to donate in 2021 to receive the offers.

Malte Iversen, the managing director at Icebach Sound, responded to the furor over their product in a Wednesday statement to Just the News.

“We do not know whether Mrs. Harris wore one of our products. The resemblance is striking and while our product was not specifically developed for the use at presidential debates, it is nonetheless suited for it. To ensure a level playing field for both candidates, we are currently developing a male version and will soon be able to offer it to the Trump campaign. The choice of colour is a bit challenging though as orange does not go well with a lot of colours,” he joked, mocking former President Donald Trump.

“Currently, we are unfortunately out of stock and also busy preparing a lawsuit against a big Chinese tech company breaching our patents. We are talking to investors in order to ramp up operations accordingly and are confident that we will ship again very soon.”
