Graham’s Criticism of Trump’s Performance

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) criticized Donald Trump following the September 10 debate against Vice President Kamala Harris. Graham, a long-time supporter of Trump, described the debate as a “missed opportunity” for the former president to defend his administration’s achievements.

Graham made the comments while talking to reporters in the post-debate spin room, recalling the moment that Trump failed to answer well to Vice President Kamala Harris’ accusation that she had “inherited a mess.”

This isn’t the first time that Graham has made comments like this. Less than two weeks ago, Graham told ABC News that he believed President Trump must “focus on the issues” to win the election in November.

“She said, ‘We inherited a mess,’” Graham told reporters. “I was yelling and screaming, ‘No you didn’t — you inherited low gas prices, a secure border, a vaccine for Covid, you inherited the biggest Mideast change of my lifetime, the Abraham Accords, and now everything is to shit.’”

Graham also told Trump to “tighten up” before the next debate – if that debate happens.
