U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Baltimore, Maryland, has detained a record 153 noncitizen sex offenders this fiscal year. The most recent arrest in the Democrat-run migrant sanctuary involves a Honduran national who was previously deported from the United States after being convicted of rape.

According to an ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) team, Madai Gamaliel Amaya was apprehended on August 29 in Montgomery Village, a suburb of Baltimore. “This is a landmark arrest for ERO Baltimore, in that they secured a record 153 noncitizen sex offenders arrested in their area of operations during a single fiscal year, but more importantly, there are 153 victims who need not fear their predators because of ERO officers,” commented ERO Executive Associate Director Daniel Bible.

Amaya’s history with U.S. law enforcement dates back to January 8, 2009, when he was arrested by Montgomery County police and charged with second-degree rape. He was convicted and sentenced to ten years in prison with three years of supervised probation. A judge later suspended two years and six months of his prison term, and he was deported in 2013.

Amaya was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents near Hidalgo, Texas, trying to re-enter the United States unlawfully, and deported in 2018 after a stint in federal prison. Nevertheless, he again re-entered the U.S. at a later date.

Alien criminals like Amaya are attracted to states like Maryland and communities like Baltimore and Baltimore County by broad sanctuary laws passed by Democratic politicians at the state and local level, limiting cooperation with federal deportation authorities.

Migrants charged or even convicted of crimes across the U.S. are frequently let loose among the American public as a result of Democrat sanctuary laws, with local police, jails, and prisons ignoring ICE detainer requests.

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, charged with tackling the “root causes” of illegal immigration by Joe Biden in 2021, has strongly supported decriminalizing illegal border crossings, and continues to advocate for a “pathway to citizenship” for illegal aliens.

As an ultra-liberal U.S. Senator, Harris compared ICE to the KKK. Her running mate Tim Walz has compared ICE’s work to “terrorism.”
