Wednesday marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris both attended the ceremony at Ground Zero in New York City just hours after their tense debate in Philadelphia, PA.

Trump and Harris were seen shaking hands and exchanging a few words.

President Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and vice presidential candidate JD Vance also attended the event.

From The New York Post:

Harris shook hands with political rival Trump at the site of the World Trade Center just hours after they both left the stage where the heated debate was held.

Harris, 59, smiled as she greeted the crowd alongside Biden. She then leaned across her boss and shook hands with Trump, who arrived at the memorial about 10 minutes earlier with his running mate, JD Vance.

Harris, Biden, Trump and Vance then posed for a photograph together with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who stood between Trump and Biden.

Biden and Harris are set to attend all three sites, going to events at the Pentagon in Virginia and the field near Shanksville, Pa., where United Airlines Flight 93 crashed after it was taken over by hijackers — and passengers fought back.
