While corporate media opted for denialism, the world’s richest man used his platform to help shine a spotlight on Haitian nationals overwhelming Ohio.

From a school bus crash to allegations of dining on wild animals and pets, the border crisis burden brought on the people of Springfield, Ohio by the Biden-Harris administration has proven more than a mere culture clash.

Weeks of fiery complaints from residents of the city of less than 60,000 people swamped by an estimated 20,000 Haitians gained national attention in recent days, and to ensure the story wasn’t swept under the rug, Elon Musk helped bring attention to his nearly 200 million followers.

Without initial comment, the billionaire shared a clip from the Aug. 27, 2024, Springfield City Commission meeting where a man who identified himself as influencer Anthony Harris demanded action from the officials.

“They’re in the park, grabbin’ up ducks by they neck and cuttin’ their head off and walking off with ’em. And eatin’ ’em!” said the man.

“I think it’s, like, kinda odd that a guy like me has to come out from doing what I do on a daily basis, to have fun, ’cause I see what’s goin’ on in these streets — and I see you guys just sittin’ up there in them puffy chairs and suits and like — and I’m gettin’ out here every day and I’m broadcasting this and you guys are just sittin’ up there in some suits,” Harris began his complaint. “Like, I really challenge you guys to get out here and do something. These Haitians are running into trash cans; they’re running into buildings; they’re running into — they’re flipping cars in the middle of the street.”

“I don’t know how, like,  y’all can be comfortable with this…I don’t know, like, who’s gettin’ paid from it,” he expressed, suggesting someone must be financially benefitting from directing so many people to the city in recent years. “I feel like, I honestly feel like someone’s gettin’ paid from it in the background.”

The man’s complaint followed the viral testimony of another Springfield resident who had lamented to officials weeks earlier that, after 45 years in her home, she and her husband felt they had to pack up and leave for their own safety.

“It is so unsafe. I have men that cannot speak English in my front yard screaming at me, throwing mattresses in my front yard, throwing trash in my front yard,” she had explained. “It is so unsafe. I have men that cannot speak English in my front yard screaming at me, throwing mattresses in my front yard, throwing trash in my front yard.”

Previously, Springfield Mayor Rob Rue had suggested that city officials had been caught unawares by the influx of foreign nationals and, after an illegal alien had allegedly crashed into a school bus, resulting in the death of an 11-year-old boy, an investigation of the alien situation led him to explain, “There were companies that knew they were going to make an effort to bring in individuals who were crossing the border based on federal regulations that they could do that.”

Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, the Republican Party’s vice presidential nominee, became a target of a corporate media narrative over the story as he shared his remarks from a congressional hearing with the caption, “Months ago, I raised the issue of Haitian illegal immigrants draining social services and generally causing chaos all over Springfield, Ohio.”

“Reports now show that people have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn’t be in this country,” continued the senator who asked, “Where is our border czar?”

Claims of disappearing pets and reports of Haitians killing ducks in the park were met with headlines that suggested the lawmaker was spreading an “unbelievable conspiracy” as the X account End Wokeness shared a considerable number and wrote, “We’re at the ‘It’s Not Happening’ phase of the Haitian pet-eating story. ‘It’s Good That It’s Happening’ is next.”

The X account MAZE helped earn a laugh from Musk with the reply, “Next is ‘Immigrants eat pets at a much lesser rate than American citizens.’”

Meanwhile, before he had replied to the Hodge Twins who’d said, “The left is still calling this a conspiracy theory,” by noting, “I mean … pics or it didn’t happen. Oh there *are* pics and video? Hmm…” he responded to an entrepreneur who’d run with the notion that Vance was spreading a “baseless” claim by sharing bodycam footage from an arrest in August.

The video depicted a woman, identified by authorities as 27-year-old Allexis Telia Ferrell, who according to WKRC, had been arrested for allegedly murdering a woman’s cat before eating it in front of multiple witnesses in Stark County, Ohio. Her bond was set at $100,000.
