Indiana Fever sensation Caitlin Clark spoke about the news of Angel Reese’s season-ending injury prior to a game against the Atlanta Dream on Sunday, calling it “devastating”.

As WNBA fans have become accustomed, Clark was all class in her response to Reese’s injury, which shocked the sports world over the weekend.

“It’s obviously, definitely sad, anytime you see anybody go down with an injury, especially people that you came into this league with, whether it was Cam (Brink), whether it was Angel, and especially Angel,” Clark told reporters.

The Indiana Fever guard congratulated Reese on an “historic year” noting that her fellow rookie has “done some incredible things”.

“For me, getting to play against her, her motor is up there, if not the best in the league, like she just doesn’t stop working,” Clark said. “So you know, congratulations to her, I thought she had a tremendous year, and I thought she came to the league and really did what she’s done well her entire career, as long as I’ve known her. So it’s definitely devastating.”

Caitlin Clark Saddened By Angel Reese’s Injury

Angel Reese, prior to her injury, spent her rookie season posting impressive stats with her consistent double-doubles and monstrous rebounding numbers.

Everyone agrees with Clark’s take that Reese’s motor is always running though, perhaps she doesn’t stop working because she’s had to clean up so many shots with a two-point field goal percentage of 39.5%, well below the league average.

But I digress.

Reese delivered the painful news about her rookie season being over to fans in an X post on Saturday.

“Through it all, I have showed that I belong in this league even when no one else believed. All I have ever wanted was to come into the W and make an impact,” she stated. “I can confidently say I have done that and will strive to keep doing so.”

“I’m filled with emotions right now that I have a season ending injury, but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next,” added Reese. “Although this is God’s timing and not mine, I am finally able to give myself a physical and mental break.”

Reese Accused Clark Fans Of Racism

Angel Reese, prior to the injury, also had good things to say about Caitlin Clark the player.

“Caitlin is an amazing player, and I’ve always thought she was an amazing player,” Reese said in her debut podcast. “We’ve been playing together since high school.”

In the same episode, however, she also slammed Clark’s fans, accusing them of racism and stalking.

“I think it’s really just the fans, her fans, the Iowa fans, now the Indiana fans, that are really just, they ride for her, and I respect that, respectfully. But sometimes it’s very disrespectful. I think there’s a lot of racism when it comes to it,” Reese lamented.

After speaking on Angel Reese’s injury, Caitlin Clark helped lead the Fever to an overtime comeback win Sunday against the Atlanta Dream.

She contributed 26 points and 12 assists in the effort. In doing so, Clark broke the franchise record for double-doubles in a season.
