Exposing the “playbook,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) held firm to his position on reviewing potential ballot initiative fraud as critics framed the effort as “unusual.”

“Our tolerance in the state of Florida for any type of election related fraud is zero. We are not going to put up with it.”

The Democratic Party’s once-touted position of “safe, legal and rare” has dramatically shifted to openly opposing any measures that place even the most watered-down restrictions on murdering unborn babies. Now it appears their crusade for child sacrifice may have resorted to violating state law to attempt to amend Florida’s constitution.

When asked about investigations into the possible fraudulent signatures Monday during a roundtable with condominium owners, the statesmen explained, “So, these ballot initiatives, you know, people signed petitions and what they, what the Department of State had seen was there was a lot of complaints about this one group that was supporting Amendment 4 for a wide variety of reasons.”

“It turns out they looked, this group submitted dozens of petitions on behalf of dead people,” said DeSantis. “They saw those petitions being submitted.”

“There are other petitions that have actually been validated where the signatures do not match the voter file. So, they were getting all of those complaints and they’re doing what they’re supposed to do, they’re following the law and they’re ensuring that anyone that broke the law is gonna be held accountable,” he went on. “Our tolerance in the state of Florida for any type of election related fraud is zero. We are not going to put up with it.”

The take from America’s Governor followed Democrat-centric reports that seemed more concerned with the deadline for signature challenges than the fact that outsiders may have orchestrated a scheme toward altering a state’s constitution.

Speaking with the Tampa Bay Times, Osceola County Supervisor of Elections Mary Jane Arrington (D) said after 16 years in her position, “I have never in my tenure had a request like this one.”

The newspaper went on to detail that the state’s voter fraud unit, created in 2022, had already arrested two people this year for allegedly forging signatures to support Amendment 4 as critics argued the Florida State Department’s review of the petition signatures could amount to “political interference.”

DeSantis went on to state Monday, “And so if they identify — they have identified examples that are going to be referred to Florida Department of Law Enforcement, those are gonna be pursued. I mean, you know, if someone’s committing fraud that undermines your rights as, as law-abiding citizens, we don’t want to go down that road.”

“We’ve made huge strides in Florida on this,” added the executive. “I think our election system, certainly for the general elections, have worked well in the last couple of election cycles.”

“But this whole thing with the petition, there’s a lot of seedy activity that goes on. These people come in from out of state. We’ve tried to do reforms to kind of police this, but I think there was a lot of things going on that wasn’t right. So that is gonna be investigated and I think that they verified fraudulent activity already. But, but anything that they find, you know, is gonna be pursued and people are gonna be held accountable,” the governor stated. “We don’t want to see election fraud in the state of Florida.”

The investigations came after the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration published its own summation on the “vague” language of Amendment 4 that sought to override the state’s six-week ban on abortion.

“Part of the Agency’s mission,” the AHCA told Axios, “is to provide information and transparency to Floridians on the quality of care they receive.”

“Our new transparency page serves to educate Floridians on the state’s current abortion laws and provide information on a proposed policy change that would impact care across the state,” the agency added as their site offered nonpartisan details about the amendment that, as previously reported, faced criticism for purposely “misleading” language that could lead to “unlimited, unrestricted access to abortion.”

DeSantis’ all-in assault toward opposing the amendment didn’t just target the left as, over the weekend, he had made a point of lauding Florida’s congressional Republicans who had openly stood against the initiative while calling out those who were silent.

“They have not taken a position against Amendment 4 and to me that’s untenable to just sit here and let George Soros run amendments in our state and not be willing to stand up and say no not on our watch?” posited the governor of the effort that former President Donald Trump had gone on record saying he would vote “no” on. “That’s the least you can do as Republicans.”
