On a banner day when everything was coming up roses for former President Donald J. Trump, the GOP nominee landed the endorsement of the nation’s largest police organization.

On Friday, the ardently pro-law enforcement Trump traveled to the battleground state of North Carolina where he spoke at the annual convention of the Fraternal Order of Police, the powerful police union that boasts a membership of 377,000 nationwide.

“Public safety and border security will be important issues in the last months of this campaign,” FOP National President Patrick Yoes said in a statement. “Our members carefully considered the positions of the candidates on the issues and there was no doubt—zero doubt—as to who they want as our President for the next four years: Donald J. Trump.”

“During his first term, President Trump made it clear he supported law enforcement and border security,” Yoes said. “In the summer of 2020, he stood with us when very few would. With his help, we defeated the ‘defund the police’ movement and, finally, we are seeing crime rates decrease. If we want to maintain these lower crime rates, we must re-elect Donald Trump.”

The organization said that an FOP committee met personally with Trump but was snubbed by Vice President Kamala Harris.

“An FOP committee met personally with former President Trump, but no similar meeting was granted by the Harris-Walz campaign,” the statement read. “This information was provided to the more than 377,000 members of the FOP so they could make their own decision in this election.”

“It’s an honor to be here. This is a big endorsement for me…It’s an honor,” Trump told an enthusiastic crowd in Charlotte. “I’m thrilled to be back with the incredible heroes and patriots of the Fraternal Order of Police, an incredible group and a group that’s highly respected all over the country.”

The former president also labeled Harris as a “defunder” in a reference to leftist groups and Democrat politicians who called for defunding – and in some cases, dismantling – the police during the 2020 George Floyd “summer of love” when violent race riots erupted nationwide and Harris called for bail money to put violent thugs back onto the streets of Minneapolis.

“I back the blue more than any other. I was not a defunder like Kamala. She was a defunder. She was a ten-year defunder. When you, when you want to defund for ten years, that’s the end of that one,” Trump said.

During his remarks, Trump also reminded FOP members of Harris’ record in California, now a dystopian crime-ridden hellhole that in some parts, resembles a third-world country.

“Kamala Harris destroyed San Francisco, she destroyed California, and now, she is destroying America, she will destroy this country,” he said, before reprising his role in the popular reality TV show “The Apprentice” which delighted the audience.

“Kamala, you’re fired, get out of here,” Trump said to applause.

“The National FOP endorsed Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020. He led our nation through some very tough times,” Yoes said. “He provided our nation with strong, effective leadership during his first term, and now that he is seeking election to a second term, we intend to help him win it.”

“We know all about you and the great job that you do. And, the people of this country respect you greatly for it. So I just want to thank you on behalf of everybody,” Trump added.

“Under the Harris regime, 99% of law-abiding citizens suffer while criminals run free and our country is plagued into literally third world conditions. In many ways, we’re a third-world country, but we’re going to clean that up real fast,” he said. “I’m here today to declare that we do not have to live this way. And when I’m president of the United States, we are not going to take it anymore.”
