Police and other security personnel quickly moved in on a man who appeared to be attempting to get onto a stage at an arena where former President Donald Trump was holding a rally.

A video posted online showed several police officers and security personnel physically taking the man down as it looked as though he was making his way to where Trump was speaking. The former president can be heard in the background.

“Yeah can we not do this a month after an assassination attempt or ever?” conservative influencer account ALX wrote.

Trump was holding a rally in Johnstown, Pa. Reports said the as-yet unidentified man stormed into the media gallery near the stage, prompting Trump to remark: “Is there anywhere that’s more fun to be than a Trump rally?”

“The man jumped over a bicycle rack ringing the media area and began climbing the stage where television reporters and cameras were stationed. People near him tried to pull him down and were soon joined by police officers. He was swiftly brought down and subdued with a taser before being escorted out,” the Times of India reported.

The former president survived an assassination attempt just over a month ago during a rally in Butler, Pa. Authorities say in the days after the attack that they discovered explosive materials in the vehicle of the shooter, Thomas Crooks, 20, and at his home.

CNN, quoting “multiple law enforcement sources,” reported that the “FBI has publicly identified the gunman as Crooks, from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Authorities say he fired multiple shots from a building rooftop just outside the rally venue before he was killed by Secret Service agents.”

A bullet grazed the former president’s right ear, causing him to fall to the ground, where several Secret Service agents immediately covered him.

The FBI on Wednesday released more information and photos about Crooks, detailing his activities before and during the July 13 campaign rally attack that resulted in one man’s death.

The FBI has not determined the shooter’s motive or identified any co-conspirators with advanced knowledge of the attack. During a press call, Kevin Rojek, special agent in charge of the FBI Pittsburgh Field Office, stated that Crooks had “a sustained detailed effort to plan an attack on some event, meaning he looked at any number of events or targets.”

He eventually became “hyper-focused” on Trump’s Butler, Pa., rally, the agent said, adding that Crooks did not appear to have any particular political ideology.

Over the month leading up to the attack, Crooks conducted more than 60 searches related to both President Biden and Trump. In late September 2023, an account associated with Crooks “searched the former president’s campaign schedule and upcoming appearances in Pennsylvania,” Rojek said.

“Next, from April of 2024 through July 12, the subject searched campaign events for both former President Trump and President Biden, including events scheduled to take place in western Pennsylvania,” Rojek said. “Specifically, on July 4, 2024, the subject searched for details of the former president’s campaign event in Butler.”

Crooks searched for specific details about Trump’s event in Butler on July 6th, the agent claimed.

“The subject registered to attend the rally, and that same day he specifically searched for, ‘How far was Oswald from Kennedy?’ ‘Where will Trump speak from at Butler Farm Show,’ ‘Butler Farm show podium,’ and ‘Butler Farm show photos,’” Rojek further explained. “On July 8, the subject search ‘AGR international.’ And on July 10, he searched ‘weather in Butler,’ and the 30 days prior to the attack, the subject conducted more than 60 searches related to President Biden and former President Trump.”
