With dozens of viewers around the world excitedly settling in to watch yesterday’s premiere of season 2 of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, prospective audience members were curious about what exciting scenes the show had in store.

The Babylon Bee compiled the following list of the most memorable moments from the first episode of the new season of The Rings of Power:

  1. Sauron takes off his nerdy glasses and suddenly everyone knows who he is: A classic plot twist mechanism Tolkien wishes he had thought of.

  2. When the baby orc shrugs at the camera and says “No way, Jose!” and the laugh track laughs and laughs: That lovable little orc is poised to steal the show!

  3. The Deadpool cameo where Deadpool is played by Jeff Bezos: What the boss man wants, the boss man gets.

  4. When Tom Bombadil yells “It’s Bombadillin’ time!” and everyone claps: A little-known catchphrase from some of Tolkien’s early notes on the character.

  5. The scene where Galadriel kills a misogynist orc named Mratt Wa-Alsh: Any similarities shared with real persons are strictly coincidental.

  6. Elrond getting a swirly: Ha ha! What a NERD!

  7. The scene where Sauron twerks with a goblin played by guest star Megan Thee Stallion: Nothing captivates viewers like an unexpected hip-hop dance number from the Dark Lord.

  8. When lesbian witches create Sauron by chanting “The power of one, the power of two, the power of maaaaaaaaany”: It worked so well in another popular franchise, it only makes sense to reuse such great storytelling.

  9. The startling reveal that Tom Bombadil was actually Sauron all along: A plot twist so great even Tolkien himself never could have thought of it.

  10. The end credits: Thank God it’s over.

With so many great moments packed into the first episode, who isn’t dying to see what will happen the rest of the season?
