Remember January 6th, 2020? It was the allegedly the worst day in American history. Everyone died. Capitols were stormed. Lecterns were moved from one place to a nearby place…

At the DNC, the Democrats mentioned Donald Trump 147 times. I don’t know how many times they mentioned January 6th, because I don’t hate myself enough to sit down and count. And, nobody released an article where they did the counting for me. It seems like this would be a good thing for AI to look into, but alas…we’re just using it to make based images of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

No AI detected…

All I know is that January 6th was mentioned more than any policy proposal from the Democrats because “joy” isn’t a policy.

For all the jibber-jabber about January 6th, all the conflating, all the overblown coverage and hand-wringing, one of the events of the day has gone mysteriously missing.

The pipe bombs planted outside the Democratic and Republican headquarters.

Two pipe bombs were discovered outside the Democratic and Republican party headquarters which the FBI said were planted the night before which, for those keeping track at home, would be January 5th.

The FBI have video of a suspect. They offered a reward for any information They even identified the suspect’s shoes.

But somehow, despite the fact that they have arrested 1,146 people from all 50 states who were present on the grounds of Congress on January 6th, the FBI just can’t seem to get their bomber man.

Blaze Media has delved deep into this mystery, undertaking the mountainous task of sifting through the surveillance footage that his been made available to the media. Even then, the Blaze claims that the FBI is withholding security video that would bust the case wide open.

Everything is in question.

The bombs were attached to 60 minute timers. If they were planted the night before, shouldn’t they have gone off well ahead of any event that occurred on January 6th?

If they were planted the night before, how did they survive two Secret Service security sweeps? Sweeps that included bomb-sniffing dogs.

(Apparently, it’s because they only sweep the inside and I can’t be the only one who thinks that’s absurd.)

Vice president-elect Kamala Harris was in the DNC building that day. Isn’t that important?

Journalist Steve Baker, who was arrested earlier this year for standing on a bench to film the people breaching the Capitol on January 6th, has been on the trail.

Baker interviewed former FBI special agent Kyle Seraphin who reveals that the pipe bombs were not a threat.

Right wing media isn’t the only outlet that finds this strange. Even The Atlantic at one point called it The Strangest Ongoing Mystery of January 6th.

And that Atlantic article is already over two years old.

So, why is Blaze Media (and me) the only ones out there still asking questions about this?

Look.

I get it.

Conspiracy theories are fun. They’re interesting. In their own special way, they give us an illusion of control over a chaotic world.

But, holy crap, if you want people to stop believing in conspiracy theories, our institution needs to start being competent. Or start hiring competent workers.

Looking for some creative ways to get around the mandatory mask order ...

We want to believe it’s a conspiracy. Because if you’re this bad at your job, we’re doomed.
