Former UN Ambassador and 2024 GOP presidential contender Nikki Haley is sounding alarm bells, warning former President Donald Trump’s campaign and Republicans in general “to make a serious shift” in how they engage with key voter demographics.

Haley advised Trump on Fox News’s “Special Report” with Bret Baier to focus less on trivial matters like crowd size comparisons and more on substantive policy issues to better engage voters.

“I think what they want is someone who’s going to care about them,” Haley said of voters. “They want someone who’s focused. They want someone who’s going to talk about the status of education right now in this country and that our kids are getting dumber, not smarter. They want someone to talk about homeownership and how hard it is to own a home.

“They want someone to talk about the fact that prices have gone up 19 percent, and they can’t do anything about it. They want someone to talk about how we’re going to prevent war. Those are the things,” she continued.

Haley, a former two-term South Carolina governor, said Trump has a good chance to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris in November, but he should focus on voting blocs that initially gravitated towards him but are now moving back to Harris after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race in July.

“Look, this is a winnable election, but you need to focus. Who is your target market? Your target market is suburban women, college-educated, independents and conservative Democrats. That’s your target market.”

Haley endorsed Trump in May after dropping out of the GOP primary. She was his most serious challenger.

She also told Baier that she saw the switch from Biden to Harris coming months ago, making that a centerpiece of her campaign.

Trump’s campaign issued a response following a statement from the White House earlier this week that there is no “daylight” between Biden and Harris, meaning the two of them share the same policy goals and objectives that have created inflationary conditions at home and an unstable world.

The Trump campaign directed its social media comment to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, adding that her remark proves that “Kamala owns the border crisis,” among other policies that have made it more difficult for Americans to get ahead while the world has become more unstable.

“Thank you @PressSec for confirming: there is ‘no daylight’ between Kamala and Joe! Kamala owns the border crisis. Kamala owns inflation. Kamala owns the wars, chaos, and crime over the past 4 years,” Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt posted to X on Monday afternoon, showing a clip of Jean-Pierre.

The press secretary said on Monday during the White House press briefing that Biden and Harris have been “aligned” throughout the administration and that there’s no “daylight” between them.

“[Harris is] going to lay out her vision. But again, they’ve been aligned, you know, they’ve been aligned for the last three and a half years. There’s not been any daylight,” Jean Pierre said.

The White House spokeswoman was responding to a media inquiry about a possible policy review process between Biden and Harris as the president enters his final months in office and Harris continues to rally support for her presidential campaign in November.

Leavitt added in a comment to Fox News Digital on Monday that “Kamala created this mess” and that she, therefore, “cannot be trusted” to address such issues under a potential Harris administration.

“Today, the Biden White House confirmed what the Kamala Harris refuses to admit: there is NO daylight between Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. Kamala owns the illegal immigration crisis that continues to rage on our southern border; and Kamala owns the inflation crisis that has made food, rent, and gas unaffordable. Electing Kamala would be like hiring the thief who robbed your house to put new locks on the door. Kamala created this mess – she cannot be trusted to clean it up,” Leavitt said.
