The great Kamala Harris rebrand is underway…
Axios was caught contradicting its own reporting this week as it attempted to rewrite history to let Kamala Harris off the hook for completely mishandling the border crisis.
It started when Axios posted a story on X with the following message: “The Trump campaign and Republicans have tagged Harris repeatedly with the ‘border czar’ title — which she never actually had.”
But that claim was quickly corrected by X’s Community Notes: The note read: On April 14, 2021, Axios’ Shawna Chen confirmed Kamala Harris had been appointed Biden’s “Border Czar” writing: “Harris, appointed by Biden as border czar, said she would be looking at the “root causes” that drive migration.”
Users on X quickly piled on and called out the attempted Kamala rebrand.

Axios isn’t the only member of the media mob attempting the great Kamala Harris rebrand. TIME Magazine published a piece headlined, “Kamala Harris Was Never Biden’s ‘Border Czar.’ Here’s What She Really Did.”
USA Today also published a “fact check” headlined, “Harris’ border work was on ‘root causes’ of migration; she wasn’t in charge.”
