SIOUX FALLS, SD — Religious leaders from multiple faiths around the world flocked to town this week after reports that the mere sight of a playground had miraculously healed a sick child.

The child, who had reportedly expressed a sudden and unexplained inability to walk after being told he could not have gummy bears for lunch, experienced an immediate turnaround and became fully ambulatory when he set his eyes on the nearby playground.

“It was an instantaneous healing,” the boy’s mother said tearfully. “One moment he was lying completely limp in his car seat, unable to move and giving every indication that he was near the end of his life, but as soon as we drove near the playground, everything changed. It’s a miracle! Our little boy is back! Thank you, Lord!”

Members of the clergy soon arrived to determine the veracity of the reported miracle. “It certainly is a powerful story,” said Reverend Michael Langstrom. “To see this boy running, jumping, and playing so soon after he was apparently so ill he could neither stand nor walk… it’s a testament to the Lord’s power. And the power of playgrounds, I suppose. Never discount the power of the playground.”

The boy continued to enjoy his time at the playground without showing any signs of infirmity or physical disability.

At publishing time, the boy had once again been stricken ill, nearly paralyzed, and completely unable to make it to the family’s car after being told by his parents that it was time to go home.
