Everyone relax. Former NFL linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul didn’t blow off his other hand last night on the 4th of July.

It’s been a wild week on Pierre-Paul’s little-used Instagram page where he posted a video of an Amazon truck backing up in a field that had people chattering and wondering if JPP ordered a truck filled with explosives.

You can’t blame JPP fans for jumping to conclusions here. We’re talking about a guy who blew off half of his hand during a 2015 fireworks incident where all hell broke loose when he struggled to light one of the final fireworks from inside a U-Haul he used to transport $1,100 in fireworks used for his neighborhood show.

“I remember a big flash, and I heard boom!” Farraw Germain, the mother of Pierre-Paul’s son, Josiah, said during a 2016 interview with Sports Illustrated. “There was a lot of smoke. As soon as I saw the green light, I jumped,” Pierre-Paul remembered. “I knew something dangerous was about to happen.”

Fast-forward to this week and an Amazon truck backing into a field with JPP directing traffic.

“Something came in the mail TODAY!!!” JPP teased.

Instantly, his Instagram lit up with fireworks comments.

“Hopefully not fireworks,” one joker wrote, but he wasn’t alone.

“Please don’t say fireworks,” wrote another, which was followed by, “Anyone else watch to the end to see if it was fireworks?” from another person concerned we might get a replay of 2015.

It kept going from there.

“Glad that was an Amazon truck and not a @phantomfireworks truck,” an IG user fired back.

What was in the truck? I’m still not sure, but based on JPP’s Instagram Story, he was up bright and early Friday morning and posting updates at 7:55 a.m. from his car.

The good news: There were no trips to the ER like nine years ago.
