Tom Brady may have hung up his cleats and is set to pick up a microphone and hit the broadcast booth this fall, but don’t think for a second that he doesn’t still like to get under center and show everyone how it’s done.

Unfortunately, his latest attempt to do exactly that didn’t quite work out.

According to Page Six, Brady was one of the guests at a Fourth of July shindig hosted by founder and CEO of Fanatics Michael Rubin. This is an annual tradition for Rubin to invite a bunch of folks to his place in the Hamptons and considering plenty of those folks are athletes, it’s only fitting that a game of football on the beach breaks out.

This year, featured a veritable clash of the titans. Under center for one team was Tom Brady, a man with seven Super Bowl titles who is unarguably the best to ever play the position.

Meanwhile, the other team featured Houston Texas QB CJ Stroud, who just wrapped up a rookie campaign, but it was a good one and he led the Texans into the playoffs which is a pretty impressive feat in itself.

Brady and Stroud weren’t the only NFL players on hand. Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Bills safety Damar Hamlin also got in on the action.

So, does TB12 still have it? Well, an insider told Page Six that he was on the losing side, but man, was it close.

“Brady’s team lost 5-4 to CJ’s team,” the source said.

Man, what a moment for CJ Stroud. He didn’t get a chance to go toe-to-toe with Brady in the NFL but he just defeated under the next-best circumstances: during an all-star pick-up game on the beach in the Hamptons.

Big congratulations to Stroud and Co. Hopefully, Brady can bounce back from this.
