The White House fired back after a report claimed that staff are “scared sh–less” of displeasing or setting off President Joe Biden.

The circle has tightened around the feeble 81-year-old Democrat, notably more so since his debate debacle last week against former President Donald Trump. And as the left-wing media begins to admit that Biden’s mental and physical decline has been evident long before the debate, a new report claims that the management of the president has been “growing more strictly controlled” by his inner circle.

“It’s like, ‘You can’t include that, that will set him off,’ or ‘Put that in, he likes that,’” an unnamed senior administration official told Politico. “It’s a Rorschach test, not a briefing. Because he is not a pleasant person to be around when he’s being briefed. It’s very difficult, and people are scared sh–less of him.”

“He doesn’t take advice from anyone other than those few top aides, and it becomes a perfect storm because he just gets more and more isolated from their efforts to control it,” the official added.

The latest claims come as more and more are coming to light about how protected Biden is and how the press has repeatedly run cover for him.

“That the president’s difficulties came as such a shock was largely the result of how effectively his top aides and the White House, on the whole, has, for three and a half years, kept him in a cocoon — far away from cameras, questions and more intense public scrutiny,” Politico reported, taking no responsibility for the media’s failure to hold the president accountable.

The outlet noted that its report was based on “interviews with more than two dozen people, most of whom were granted anonymity to speak candidly about a sensitive subject.”

Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates fired back and told Fox News Digital, “That’s simply not who [Biden] is.”

He contended that the president seeks input from a “wide range of individuals inside and outside the administration.”

Biden’s immediate family hunkered down with him at Camp David in the aftermath of the debate fiasco and reportedly urged him to stay in the race. Reports indicated that staffers were thrown under the bus as the family blamed various people – but not the president himself – for the debate failure.

“The number of people who have access to the president has gotten smaller and smaller and smaller. They’ve been digging deeper into the bunker for months now,” an unnamed Democratic strategist in a battleground state told Politico, adding that “the more you get into the bunker, the less you listen to anyone.”

“I think the Biden team is pretty insular and doesn’t really care what anybody says,” a senior House Democrat told the outlet.

But the White House pushed back with Bates telling Politico in a statement: “In every administration, there are individuals who would prefer to spend more time with the president and senior officials.”

He dismissed the criticism as “unfair distortions of processes that exist in every administration.”

“President Biden fights hard for families every day, working with a wide range of team members at what he is proud is the most diverse White House ever — and achieving historic results for the American people because of his determination, values, and experience,” Bates said.
