A congressman’s account of a mic drop moment from then-President Donald Trump during talks with the Taliban left commentator Sage Steele stunned: “Shut up!”

“That’s the definition of strength. That’s what I’m talking about.”

Among the stark contrasts between President Joe Biden and Trump, the incumbent’s foreign policy failures have left the world teetering on the edge of greater conflict where no new wars had been started during his predecessor’s administration.

While Biden shamefully peddled the debunked “suckers and losers” story about the GOP leader and denied the deaths of service members under his own command, U.S. Army veteran Texas Rep. Wesley Hunt went on the record with his “favorite President Trump story” that embodied “Peace Through Strength.”

“This is my number one, favorite of all time,” he told the host of “The Sage Steele Show” as a guest alongside Florida Rep. Byron Donalds. “When we were negotiating with the Taliban, while President Trump was still the president, President Trump wanted to get out of Afghanistan, but he wanted a conditions-based withdrawal. Meaning that you do what we tell you to do, and then we will start pulling troops back slowly, as long as you abide by our rules.”

“It’s President Trump and [then-Secretary of State] Mike Pompeo, and they are talking to Taliban leadership in the room, and they had one translator in the room,” detailed the congressman. “President Trump looked at the Taliban leader and said this, ‘I want to leave Afghanistan, but it’s gonna be a conditions-based withdrawal… and if you harm a hair on a single American, I’m gonna kill you.’”

Aping a panicked expression from the translator, Hunt went on, “And Trump goes, ‘Tell him.’…reached in his pocket, pulled out a satellite photo of the leader of the Taliban’s home and handed it to him.”

“Shut up!” reacted Steele as the veteran Apache helicopter pilot concluded that Trump then proceeded to get up and leave. “Do you know for 18 months not a single American was killed in Afghanistan? That’s the definition of strength. That’s what I’m talking about.”

Corroborating the claim, former U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor KT McFarland reacted to the “pretty bada**” story by noting, “This is absolutely true story. Trump did tell Taliban leader not to harm ‘a hair on the head of any American’ or he would kill the Taliban leader. And he did say ‘and we know where you live’- and then showed him satellite photo of Taliban leader’s home.”

Moments earlier, Donalds, who himself had shared the video with the caption, “President Trump’s policy of ‘Peace Through Strength’ WORKS. This November, we will Make America Strong Again,” contrasted how bad things were under the current administration by indicating that seven United States embassies had been lost during his term, “That has never happened in American history. That’s how weak we are on the world stage.”

Trump has often repeated his argument that Russia would never have invaded Ukraine under his watch and Hamas would not have dared to strike Israel as both had done with Biden at the helm. Hunt’s story had social media buzzing that, once again, the GOP leader was proven correct.
