A new Reuters/Ipsos poll indicates one in three Democrats think Joe Biden should drop out of the presidential race, but his potential replacements wouldn’t fare much better against Donald Trump.
Biden has been bombarded with pressure from Democrat donors and voters to get out of the race after appearing feeble throughout the first presidential debate last week.
And while they are clamoring to get him out, the resistance party will be saddened to learn that in a hypothetical matchup against Trump, no current elected official performs any better than Biden.
According to this latest poll, Biden and Trump are split at 40% support.
Vice president Kamala Harris trails Trump by one point (42-43%), California Governor Gavin Newsom trails him by three points (39-42%), and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer trailed by five (36-41%).

Who Could Replace Him AND Win?
Of all the candidates presented to respondents in the new poll, only one actually leads Trump. And leads by a pretty solid margin.
Michelle Obama, at least in this poll, beats Trump.
“Among the names of top Democrats put before respondents, only Michelle Obama, wife of former Democratic President Barack Obama, outperformed Biden and led Trump 50% to 39% in a hypothetical matchup,” Reuters writes.
That is a significant margin and should cause any Republican hoping President Biden drops out of the race to pump the brakes a little bit.
Political strategist Roger Stone has insisted for months that Democrat officials intend to drop Biden based on 25th Amendment claims and replace him in the race against Trump with Michelle Obama.

Michelle Obama Leads Trump In Poll
While the thought of a Madame President with the last name of Obama is frightening, the Reuters poll appears to be little more than wishful thinking.
Mrs. Obama has repeatedly denied any interest in running for President in 2024.
In an interview with Amtrak Magazine’s ‘The National’ she was asked: “If you thought the country needed you and you thought you could really help our nation, is there even a one percent chance you’d consider running?”
“Just between us, and the readers of this magazine — there’s zero chance,” Mrs. Obama replied.
In addition to Obama’s lack of interest, Biden has reportedly insisted he is going to gather up the brain cells he has left and forge ahead with his campaign.
“Let me say this as clearly as I possibly can as simply and straightforward as I can: I am running…no one’s pushing me out. I’m not leaving,” he said during a campaign call. “I’m in this race to the end and we’re going to win.”
