Former U.S attorney for the Southern District of New York and New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani was disbarred on Tuesday.
According to the New York Appellate Division, First Judicial Department, the Trump ally was found to have “deliberately violated some of the most fundamental tenets of the legal profession” in his work for the former president.
“Respondent flagrantly misused his prominent position as the personal attorney for former President Trump and his campaign, through which respondent repeatedly and intentionally made false statements, some of which were perjurious, to the federal court, state lawmakers, the public, the AGC, and this Court concerning the 2020 Presidential election, in which he baselessly attacked and undermined the integrity of this country’s electoral process,” read a statement from the court. “In so doing, respondent not only deliberately violated some of the most fundamental tenets of the legal profession, but he also actively contributed to the national strife that has followed the 2020 Presidential election, for which he is entirely unrepentant.”
His license to practice law had been suspended in 2021, at which point he had been an active bar member since his admission in 1969.
Giuliani responded to the news on X, saying he wasn’t surprised by being disbarred.
“I’m not surprised that I’ve been disbarred by a Bar Ass’n which is a politically and ideologically integral part of the Democrat one party corrupted court system for a long time,” he wrote. “Judges, like Merchan and Engoron in NYC are selected by local Democrat bosses. These judges, just like in a one party Communist dictatorship, are not really elected but selected by the Democrat local bosses and often run unopposed. The case is based on an activist complaint, replete with false arguments, a hearing officer who was a former judge from the same corrupt Democrat selection process, and a tape with almost 1/4th of the most critical parts erased and covered up by either the Chief NY Bar ‘persecutor’ and his staff, or the Sec’y of State of Georgia.”

Social media was quick to react to the shocking news including Rudy Giuliani’s son, Andrew:
Rudy Giuliani, the most important change agent in the history of New York City, has been disbarred.
Joe Biden and his leftist flunkies are simply tyrannical, they will stop at nothing to hold on to power. Your freedom is a stake on November 5th!

This will not stand! The NY Bar’s decision will be reversed when sanity prevails on November 5.

This was very troubling news. You are right! They will stop at nothing and have gone after everyone that stood with Trump. Please tell your father we stand with him and that when Trump is inaugurated in 2025, things will change. I know it’s no comfort now, but man, KARMA’S A…

I won’t ever forget how your Dad saved NYC. He became America’s Mayor after 911 and this disbarment is a disgusting weaponization.
I stand with Rudy!— Betsy (@BLovesSoAL) July 2, 2024
Rudy Giuliani has been disbarred for bringing legal challenges after an election. Americans have the right to question elections. This is just a continuation of Lawfare. Their continued attacks on him prove his effectiveness. @RudyGiuliani
