It turns out there really is a golf god. 

He or she came through for the Instagram community on Monday when Paige Spiranac, the world’s No. 1 ranked golf influencer, as named by the OutKick Culture Department, agreed to a one-on-one match with fellow world-class golf influencer Hailey Ostrom. 

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Ostrom, this is like a Tiger vs. Phil showdown within the Instagram golf influencer world. “Hey [Paige Spiranac] it sounds like everyone wants to see us play. What do you say?” Ostrom tweeted Monday. 

Paigeviews, who seems to be laying low for the 4th of July holiday week, perked up over the challenge. “Let’s do it!” she fired back at Ostrom, who has played professionally, attended the LPGA Qualifying School and appeared on Golf Channel’s “Shotmakers.” 

And just like that, we have a battle for the ages.

Since these two just agreed to a match, it’s unclear where it will be held, what the rules will be and which streaming platform will carry this match that will have Instagram heads spinning. 

At 31, Spiranac is pushing the boundaries of the influencer world. We’ve never seen a world’s No. 1 ranked influencer go on a run like this – EVER. While Tiger went nearly 5 ½ years as the world No. 1 golfer, Paige has been the world’s No. 1 golf influencer since 2017 when the LPGA went ISIS on her over her clothing choices. 

Paige pivoted out of the LPGA over the draconian rules and the rest is history. We’re talking seven years of dominating this industry. There have been pretenders who’ve come and gone. Many women want the crown, but they can’t sniff Paigeviews’ combination of golfing abilities, plus her understanding of the content game. 

Can Ostrom climb the mountaintop in a showdown that historians will look back on or will she be disposed of like so many other pretenders?
