The Boston Celtics are doing everything they can in order to get back and win another NBA Championship.

Late Monday night, the team announced that it would not only be extending its small forward Jayson Tatum’s contract, but also giving him the highest NBA salary ever at five-years at a nice calm, cool,, and collected $313,933,410 million. (Shout out to the Celtics finance department for the extremely precise contract number.)

CELTICS ARE ONCE AGAIN NBA CHAMPION FAVORITES

The record-breaking contract surpasses Tatum’s teammate Jaylen Brown’s five-year, $304 million contract that he signed last year, meaning that between the two All-Stars Boston has invested over $600 million. When you add the fact that the team also has the rest of their starting lineup coming back and Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick White signing recent extensions as well – well, good luck to the other NBA teams out there, especially in the Eastern Conference.

There’s no doubt that Tatum has earned the massive contract. He’s helped Boston reach the Eastern Conference finals in five of his seven years with the franchise, as well as back-to-back Finals before ultimately averaging 26.9ppg this season to help bring Boston their first Title in 16-years after they ran through the playoffs in dominant fashion.

Tatum’s deal comes in what has been a busy week in the NBA – with Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson heading to the Dallas Mavericks, who lost to the Celtics in The Finals.

Other notable deals include James Harden agreeing to two-years with the Clippers, Paul George and a four-year, $212+ million contract with the 76ers and the Knicks adding to the Villanova 3 by getting Mikal Bridges..
