President Joe Biden addressed concerned Democratic donors Tuesday about his woeful debate performance, blaming his struggles on his travel schedule.

“I decided to travel around the world a couple of times … shortly before the debate …I  didn’t listen to my staff … and then I almost fell asleep on stage,” the president, who spoke for six minutes, told donors in Virginia.

We don’t doubt that the trip to Europe exhausted the president. The New York Times reported earlier Tuesday that Biden was so tired from the trip he had to cut his debate prep short.

“Mr. Biden was drained enough from the back-to-back trips to Europe that his team cut his planned debate preparation by two days so he could rest at his house in Rehoboth Beach, Del., before joining advisers at Camp David for rehearsals,” said the report.

“The preparations, which took place over six days, never started before 11 a.m. and Mr. Biden was given time for an afternoon nap each day, according to a person familiar with the process.”

But here’s the problem – or, one of the many – Biden returned from Europe 12 days before the debate. He had scheduled nap times during each day of prep. How long does it take for him to catch back up on his sleep after traveling?

Perhaps he’ll need to take the entire month off to be awake enough for the next debate in September.

To recap, Biden and/or his team have blamed the following for his disastrous performance on stage:

– travel

– a cold

– CNN moderators

– CNN cameramen

– CNN makeup artists

– too much prep time

– not enough prep time

– the time of day

– the side of the stage from which Biden spoke

You just know other countries are laughing. And rightfully so.

Consider that if Biden wins in November, he will “run” our country until January 2029. He’ll be 85. His condition, if that’s what we call it, isn’t improving.

Voters know that:
