James Carville was among those who tossed in his two cents during the post-mortem of Joe Biden’s disastrous showing at Thursday’s CNN debate and predicted that he won’t make it to Election Day.

The longtime Democrat strategist and cable television pundit told Axios that if he had “appeared like Biden did during the debate, he’d want to be pulled off the tube.”

“I never thought this was a nifty idea,” the “Ragin’ Cajun” said of Biden’s reelection run, adding that the president doesn’t listen to many people. “He doesn’t have advisers. He has employees.”

When pressed about whether Biden will be forced off the party’s ticket by the election, Carville responded, “That which can’t continue … won’t,” paraphrasing the famous quote by economist Herb Stein, “If something cannot go on forever, it will stop.”

In a reaction to the political guru’s remarks, Team Biden represented itself through Carville in a fundraising email to supporters.

“Hi, it’s James Carville,” said the text that included a link to donate to what now looks like a lost cause. “I need you and Democrats everywhere to make a contribution to the Biden-Harris campaign ASAP. Help them defeat Donald Trump.”

Carville told the Washington Post that he “never signed off on that,” referring to the Biden campaign’s false claim which he said “didn’t bother me as much as the debate.”

“Of all the glitches they made, I guess this is pretty minor,” he said. But he added: “It’s kind of weird to see your name go out to half a million people.”

According to the WaPo: “Later Saturday night, the Biden campaign provided an email showing a representative for Carville approved the fundraising missives earlier this month.”

Carville’s team, “signed off on a robust fundraising package for our campaign including today’s message, and we’re grateful for everything he does to ensure that Joe Biden is re-elected to a second term,” said Biden campaign spox Lauren Hitt in a statement to the outlet.

Now 80 years old, Carville has been credited as the architect of Bill Clinton’s 1992 White House win in which “Slick Willie” toppled then-President George H.W. Bush who had previously enjoyed a 90 percent approval rating during Gulf War I.

It was a younger version of the now cadaverous motormouth who coined the bumper sticker slogan of “It’s the economy stupid” that resonated with voters who elected Clinton with a big assist from third-party maverick Ross Perot who got more than 20 million votes, pulling many from Bush who despite his earlier popularity, ended up being a one-term president.

Carville has managed to parlay his 1992 fame into a three-decade career and is still sought after for his witty and profane contributions to the political discourse.

He may be critical of Biden, but he still finds him preferable to Trump.

“It isn’t the choice I was crazy about,” Carville said during an appearance on 77 WABC radio’s “The Cats Roundtable” earlier this month. “I thought that President Biden should not run for re-election…But he did — it’s him and Trump — and that’s where I am.”
