During Thursday night’s presidential debate, Joe Biden claimed that no U.S. troops have died since he’s been in office — a blatant lie that ignores the 13 servicemembers lost during the Afghanistan withdrawal.

“When he was president, there were still killing people in Afghanistan, and he didn’t do anything about that,” Biden said. “When he was president, we still found ourselves in a position where you had a notion that we were the safe country. The truth is, I’m the only president [in] this century, that doesn’t have any — this decade — that doesn’t have any troops dying anywhere in the world.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump used several opportunities on Thursday night to hit Joe for Afghanistan.

“He was so bad with Afghanistan,” Trump said during the CNN presidential debate on Thursday night. “It was such a horrible embarrassment. Most embarrassing moment in the history of our country that when Putin watched that and he saw the incompetence.”

“He should have fired those generals like I fired the one that you mentioned and so he’s got no love lost but he should have fired those generals,” Trump continued. “No general got fired for the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country, Afghanistan, where we left billions of dollars of equipment behind. We lost 13 beautiful soldiers and 38 soldiers were obliterated.”
