The families of the victims of the Robb Elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, are finally beginning to see a little bit of justice.

Former Uvalde School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo (this guy), has been indicted along with another officer for charges of child endangerment. If you recall, the crew led by Arrendondo stood around for more than an hour doing nothing.

From ABC News:

Former Uvalde School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo was charged with 10 counts of abandoning and endangering a child in connection with 10 of the Robb Elementary Survivors …

The indictment alleges that, after hearing shots fired, Arredondo failed to identify the shooting as an active shooter, failed to respond as trained, and instead, called SWAT, thereby delaying the response by law enforcement …

The indictment also alleges that he: chose to negotiate with the gunman instead of engaging; failed to timely provide keys and breaching tools; failed to determine if the classroom door was locked; failed to follow the school district’s active shooter policy; and failed to develop an immediate action plan.

This man did not do a single thing the way he was supposed to and stood by while 19 children and two teachers were killed.

If he’s convicted, I hope they throw away the key to the jail cell.

(But with Arrendondo, they could leave the cell door unlocked and he’d never attempt to open it.)

The second person indicted is former Uvalde School District police officer Adrian Gonzales, the San Antonio Express-News and Uvalde Leader News reported. ABC News has not independently confirmed the second charging.

It’s unclear why these are the only two individuals indicted in this case. And if you saw the video, you’d want more indictments, firings, and jail time for everyone involved.
