A prickly Vice President Kamala Harris defended her boss to CNN’s Anderson Cooper after Thursday’s debate dumpster fire, a night when the entire nation got to see for themselves that the emperor has no clothes.

To call President Joe Biden’s debate performance an unmitigated disaster would be a monumental understatement and Democrats are now in full panic mode about their obviously feeble candidate, but Harris insisted that it was only a “slow start” and that the 81-year-old’s record speaks for itself.

The veep appeared on the network shortly after the 90-minute debate between Biden and presumptive GOP nominee Donald J. Trump wrapped up, bristling when Cooper noted the Democratic dismay and asked if the raspy, flailing wreck onstage in Atlanta was the real Biden.

During the segment in which she refused to acknowledge Biden’s terrible showing, Harris clashed with the CNN anchor who noted the “fallout” from Democrats, many of who are ready to pull the plug on the clearly unfit geriatric leader, repeatedly changing the subject to Trump.

“What we saw tonight is the president making a very clear contrast with Donald Trump on all of the issues that matter to the American people,” Harris insisted. “Yes, there was a slow start, but it was a strong finish.”

“Democratic lawmakers watching the debate were worried about the performance. One said it was a disaster and another called it a trainwreck,” Cooper said. “Those are Democrats especially worried that Biden did not punch back on Trump‘s lies.”

“People can debate on style points, but ultimately, this election and who is the president of the United States has to be about substance,” Harris claimed, sticking to the campaign’s top issues of the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, Trump raising questions about the legitimacy of the 2020 election and abortion, none of which are resonating with inflation-battered Americans.

“All that may be true, but the president of the United States was not able to make that case to Donald Trump on the stage tonight,” Cooper stated.

“You debated against then-Vice President Biden four years ago, and he was a very different person on the stage four years ago when you debated him. That‘s certainly true, is it not?” Cooper asked of the Democrat debates, during one of which she suggested that Biden was a racist before dropping out.

“I got the point that you’re making about a one-and-a-half-hour debate tonight,” Harris shot back. “I‘m talking about three-and-a-half years of performance in work that has been historic.”

“I‘m not going to spend all night with you talking about the last 90 minutes when I‘ve been watching the last three-and-a-half years of performance,” she testily said.

“It was a slow start, I‘m not going to debate that,” Harris said, admitting that Biden’s showing was lackluster. “I‘m talking about the choice in November. I‘m talking about one of the most important elections in our collective lifetime, and do we want to look at what November will bring and go on a course for America that is about a destruction of democracy.”

Later in the segment, Cooper said, “The person we saw tonight, the president we saw tonight on that stage, is that how he is every day?”

“The Joe Biden that I work with every day is someone who, as I have said, has performed in a way that has been about bringing people into the Oval Office, Republicans, and Democrats, to compromise in a way that is extraordinary these days, because it just doesn’t happen, but Joe Biden can make it happen,” she replied,  spewing spin instead of giving an honest answer to the question.

“The Joe Biden I see is someone who goes to our allies around the world and strengthens NATO to the point that there are two new members of NATO who, just about four years ago, people said, ‘Is NATO even have a reason for existing?’” Harris added, emphasizing the regime’s priorities halfway across the world, while again making it about Trump.

“The Joe Biden I know is someone who has delivered 800,000 new manufacturing jobs and bringing manufacturing back to the United States, not shipping jobs out like Donald Trump did. So that’s the Joe Biden I know,” she angrily said as the interview came to a close.
